That was the coolest thing I've ever seen. I saw the second half of Kobe's game thanks to an IM from treble, but that was the first 50-point game I've seen from start to finish.

It was awesome. Dude was draining threes left and right. He was close to breaking Vince Carter's team record but missed the last FT.

The Pacers let Mo Williams score 52 on them. [/life]
Mo Williams actually had two 40+ point games...but that was way back in '08-'09. Just an odd combination of him being on fire and the Pacers stinking.

Weirdest thing is that not only was this the Timberwolves franchise single game scoring record (really amazed KG or Kevin Love never went off for more than 50 points) but also the single game scoring record for Bankers Life Fieldhouse. Amazed that LeBron or Kobe never went off against a crappy Pacers team. I was going to say MJ but I realized it didn't open till '99 so he didn't play their till his last comeback.

It's the record for a visitor. JO had a 55-point game shortly after the brawl suspension.

According to ESPN.com it's the 7th 50-point game against the Pacers in franchise history, and this is the first time it's happened in Indy, all the rest have been on the road

Add Klay Thompson who scores 37 of his 52 points in the 3rd quarter against the Kings tonight. The points are a record for a quarter along with a record nine threes.

Dana Barros and Willie Burton?!

And I see Barros made the All-Star team in that season as well but looks like it was matter him having a big year on a terrible team.

The 50 point game thread is going needed to be bumped.

Curry has 53 with a minute left. Can't recall seeing a 50-point game this early in the season.

It's been done four times before within the first three games of the season. Wilt in '65, Jordan in '86 and '89, and....Rashard Lewis in '03.

I remember that Rashard Lewis 50 point game. It was at a season opening Sonics/Clippers game in Japan. I think this was right after MLB decided to start opening the season in Japan and Stern unsuccessfully decided to rip off the idea.

Just for fun, here are the guys whose career highs were 49 points.

Bob Rule
Bob Love
Cazzie Russell
World B. Free
Otis Birdsong
Paul Westphal
Mark Aguirre
Terry Catledge
Antoine Walker
Latrell Sprewell

'Toine was 5-5 on three-pointers in his game, but just 2-7 from the free throw line. How does that happen

Damian Lillard and Anthony Davis join the list. Davis is the first player since Chris Webber in 2001 to have 50 points and 20 rebounds in a game.

Saw in an oddly specific fact that Davis is the youngest player to have a 59-point game.

Some old dude had 60 points last night. I hear he also retired immediately following the game. Not a bad way to go out.

That was an annoying stretch where Kobe was trying to score 50 in every game.

Alex English will go down as one of the most under appreciated players of all time

No, Alex got his props back in the day..... he was a hell of a scorer.

Klay Thompson with the first 60 point game of the year.

And he did it only 29 minutes. The previous most points in a game in fewer than 30 minutes played was Larry Bird in 1986 scoring 43.
