Tonight kind of explained why Grant Williams has barely played this second half of the season. Maybe they will just leave him in Boston for the next two games. Yeesh.

Going from a potential Lakers/Celtics finals to a Heat/Nuggets finals is a disaster for the NBA, ratings wise anyway. I'm happy Jokic or Butler get a ring though. (My money is on Jokic and he should have been MVP again)

I think you might not be able to sell it because people viscerally hate the Heat organization and hate a lot of shit about Florida, but I also don't care if they can sell it because I don't know why it matters. When the NBA put in the salary cap, this is what they wanted. Otherwise the Lakers, Clippers, Warriors, Knicks, and Sixers would buy the best teams all the time. If the side effect to the salary cap is that you get a Finals with shitty ratings, that's what they wanted and knew they were getting into.

I think this series still has some small chance of not actually being over. The Lakers never laid down and all the games were close even though their coach refused to change the lineups until now.

As a LeBron fan, I have to call it like I see it: there were times in the second half that he could have helped his team more by allowing himself to be subbed out, rather than trying to rest on the court. That said, the man went out on his shield: not much more you can ask than that.

With tonight's win, the Los Angeles Clippers are now the oldest franchise never to reach an NBA Finals.

Our coach also benched Troy Brown (only guy who backed Lebron up) for the entire playoffs for no good reason. There are a lot of little things like that which played a factor in making the team tired as shit.

The Heat are showing you don’t have to play your best guys 37 minutes a game and should develop your bench even if you are inconsistent throughout the year. Freaking Thibs, too

Just want to clarify that I personally have no problem with the Denver/Miami matchup, just that it will absolutely draw lower TV numbers than the alternatives based on Markets alone. People should absolutely be excited to watch the historic shit Jokic is doing.

No matter what happens, at least we didn’t get swept.

Overheard at Wyc Grousbeck’s office this morning.

“Hello Mr. Ortiz. We would love to have you courtside at the game tomorrow night.”

“Mr. Millar, if you can get the night off from MLB Network, we would love to have you as a guest at the game in Boston tomorrow.”

“Oh. Mr. Schilling…ya know I’m sorry but I don’t think we have any more room at the game tomorrow. You might want to contact the ticket office in Miami. Perhaps Governor DeSantis has an extra ticket.”

White just sneaking in there from the 3-point line was bonkers, especially after the Butler foul and his clutch making all 3 free throws.

Some of those fouls at the end were awful, though.

Bro is this is a serious fuckin question, I'm glad Shaq posted this. You gotta be kidding me those kids would get run out the fuckin gym. The general baseline of an average player is better than it used to be but some of these comparisons are getting out of control

Kobe alone would kill all those dudes... no way Tatum could handle Duncan's moves or god forbid Garnett going at him physically on defense if switched up. I don't even know if Giannis could handle Garnett's physicality. Shaq would kill Embiid.

Short of the 2022 team hucking up 3s all series long, they'd get mauled trying to do anything inside the baseline. The Celtics started playing more aggressively on defense and the Heat completely folded in Games 4 and 5 this series. You think those dudes aren't folding when a Kobe is swarming Luka or Shaq's slamming his shoulder into Embiid's sternum and backing him up 7 feet into the paint?

Garnett is probably matched up against Tatum in this hypothetical, not as if that would really change anything. Giannis is the only guy from the '23 team that I wouldn't immediately dismiss in his matchup, but against peak Tim Duncan he would have plenty of problems.

Kinda weird that Jokic wasn't All-NBA first team. A guy many think is the best basketball player in the world.

But even if he was, I'd still take the old school team.
