What's locomotion and 120 ways to win?

I don't know if anybody answered me, but do you get the news stories and stuff for your team in single-player offline?

I just read they brought back formation substitutions. I loved having specific play substitutions back in the day when you could edit your playbook. And it looks like custom playbooks are back too. Once again...THANK GOD. I hated being hamstrung by having to pick a teams playbook.
How long has it been since we've had custom playbooks?

locomotion's the new running style mechanism. plays...alright i guess, i have the demo but i only played one game of it for some reason.

120 ways to win means that the teams play the way they should play so if you're gonna crown their ass, crown them, they are who you think they are. It's more sophisticated than the old coaching style where it was just run/pass% and it would more or less randomly pick exactly which runs & passes were being called; Nevada will now run the pistol a ton, Navy & GT will run the triple option, instead of it just randomly picking amongst however many run/pass plays there were in the playbook to decide what to call next.

This game plays a ton better than 2010, IMO. The locomotion isn't just a marketing thing, it feels different.

So far, very impressed after last years title being pretty disappointing.

Yeah... I left work early for this. Won't get into the online dynasty until tonight as two of my main cohorts are at a conference all day, but I'm loving it so far. The gameplay is much improved from last year, but I knew that from the demo.

I was surprised at how much they changed the phone call, despite keeping the whole point objectively the same. I love the new way with the 10 minute topics.

I can't love it as much as I want until I get into the online dynasty but this game is awesome.

Do recruits still get randomly pissed off for no real reason?

Well, you can no longer talk to anyone for longer than an hour... so the turning on the dime from green to red is no longer an option, really.

I must admit that I approve of the changes they've made to the game. It actually feels like I'm playing football, also I haven't had a moment yet where I went "bullshit" and it was because of actual bullshit by the CPU making an unbelievable catch or something. Well there was one, but I kinda gave up on the play because I thought he was going to go out and I didn't want the stupid interference call.

Also, GT had a review saying the linebackers swat everything down, but I've only found that to be true on zone and usually if I'm trying to squeeze a pass. Anyone else having that problem?

Oh, and I'm so going Run & Shoot from now on. God its just so much fun to play. If that playbook was in Madden I'd be so happy.

Yo Mik, if there's room...mind if I join y'alls dynasty?

Game is fucking stellar. Campus Legend hasn't changed much but I'm finding it more enjoyable to play this year than in previous years. I really love the fact that you can run the ball this go-round and plays just don't "end"..you'll see a player stumble out of a spin and try to get a few more yards on the play or you'll keep leaning when in a pile to get that extra yard. Oh, and the fucking o-line actually does their job and blocks!

Passing game seems a bit crisper than last year's as well and how things were implemented in how if you're running or under pressure and throw the ball it'll sail a little bit or how if you're getting hit you can still throw a pass but it'll be a lame duck or just wind up in the ground.

So much better than last years...

I'll check with my friends. I don't think they'll go for it, though. They aren't big gamers and aren't used to playing games with people they don't know.

I like it so far. It is much more fluid and they look more like real players.

The first one I got on the 360, the year Zabransky was on the cover was awful from an animation standpoint IMO. All the players looked like they were 8 feet tall and had skinny bodies and legs and then huge shoulder pads and they all seemed to have the same face. I felt like I was playing with a bunch of mutant giants.
And when they ran it seemed only their legs moved (no upper body movement at all) and they all did high knees.

I already have a file that's about 85% or so complete. Gamertag to download it is Death By Smiley. Case sensitive.

Been tweaking sliders here and there on my PS3 version while playing on Varsity and Normal speed mode. I have the QB Accuracy upped to 70 for both and am liking that the CPU can now throw it short and in the middle on me but can't go deep. I can go an entire game completing around 63-68% of my passes with 99% of every deep ball knocked down.

Animation wise, everything is very fluid. LOVE the toe drag/sideline fix now as I've seen several incredible catches, both for and against, that have been TDs or big plays thanks to that.

I also love the inclusion of the Run-and-Shoot playbooks (Hawai'i, SMU, Run & Shoot). Most of the plays work really well and if you have a WR with incredibly high awareness, they can burn defenders on the option routes all game. Also makes running the ball inside on draws, traps, counters, etc. really effective as the defense is often playing with just 5 in the box.

Anyone using the custom stadium sounds for this game? I experimented a little bit with these on NCAA 10 and they were really cool.

Anyone else use these?

For the record, in online dynasties you can't change teams (can't even be fired) and you won't get invited to change conferences. So, y'know, choose your teams wisely.

Me, I'm eyeing Syracuse.

Haha... good for you. They SUCK. I know, because I'm them in MY online dynasty. We all chose 3 star teams because we're expecting a 10+ year dynasty. I play as UNC in my offline dynasty and the difference is night and day.

Broward, sorry... no-go on the online dynasty. Guys wanted to keep it local, so to speak.

SU has sucked for years, not that NCAA has recognized it. Hell it took them an 0-12 season to drop from 4* to 3* in prestige.

Is there anyone that's going to want to do a 360 dynasty? I see the PS3 thread up but I guess no one wants to give NCAA a go..which is kinda sad.

Well then, Bond, Skull, CV and myself...seems to be a good amount to start things up.

Skull, you can send me a friend request (UTBroward) or I'll just add you later tonight. What would everyone's preference in teams be? I'd have no problem running Texas, but if people want to do a certain conference or play as mid-major teams, that's fine too.

I'll gauge a bit more interest in this thread then I'll do a main thread for the 360 dynasty.

I was thinking about rolling with Fresno State again, but I am kinda tempted to branch off into other conferences, depending on what you guys do. I might even be more inclined to join one of you in a conference and form a rivalry.

I probably won't be signing on till later tonight(Sunday) to live, so if you haven't added me by then I'll send you a request.

I'm hoping to use Pitt as far as dynasty goes too, but I can use whoever else if necessary.

As far as us playing each other, I figure we can use this first year to recruit and get familiar with our teams. The second year I can set it up so that we're playing each of us if not maybe just one other. So that we we are playing against one another on a regular to semi-regular basis.

Also with us being in different conferences it gives each of us a higher shot at making bigger bowl games.
