Yeah, just takes a while to get them up on the server. Trust me. I had a 5 point game, and it took 3 or 4 more games after that to register the stats.

Also, people really don't know how to play either centre or defense. No one I've played with has a good face off rating, and everyone sucks on defense.

I can't shoot because I can't get close to the net without the CPU taking my guy out and I can't play defense because the CPU does moves I wish I could do myself. The same thing happened to me in '09 too and led me to quit playing altogether.

Same here. Tinkering with the sliders helped a bit but yeah, still way too frustrating.

I thought the game was wayyyy too easy, unless you cranked it up to the highest difficulty setting. I have a set of sliders that works great for me and gives me a challenge. Playing on anything below the highest level though and I would beat the computer by 3+ goals every time.

You know what? FUCK this game.

I'm on PRO and I can't get the puck away from the CPU while I'm getting passes picked off and pucks poked away left and right. Unless I can find sliders that make the AI not be fucking impossible, it's not being played again.

I hate to say this, but are you trying for the long range passes? Are you making sure that all your passes have a clear lane? Because if not, they are going to get picked off easily.

Also, lower the slider for the stick lift. Its sickening how easily the CPU picks up your stick, but if you lower it to one fourth, it makes it easier to deal with. Though, they can still do it every so often. Also by doing that, it'll increase the tripping penalties and then the CPU starts to use it less.

You can play on Pro and tilt the sliders completely your way. Fatigue, checking, shooting. If you do that you should pretty much never have the puck taken away from you, and you should be able to put up 15 goals a game. It's the easiest way to unlock boosts and equipment slots for EASHL.

I don't want to cheese the game and make everything easy, I just don't want to feel like the AI knows my every move. I found some sliders on Operation Sports that people in my position have said saved them from throwing the game out the window, so I'll try those.

Well, those sliders did the trick. I'm having competitive but not frustrating games. I also discovered clicking in the left stick gives you a speed boost which helps you get separation from the opponent. If anyone is interested, I found them here:

NHL 12 comes out 9/13 (demo out next week, though). It promises a bunch of new features and junk like The Winter Classic and goalies being actual players as opposed to colorful brick walls. Ultimately, it will mostly feel like the same game as last year (which isn't bad). This time, there will be legends and stuff (what you know about Borje Salming? Seriously, I was born in 89. I know nothing of Borje Salming) that you can move between teams.

First time in years I'm not buying it. Played NHL 11 for about two weeks and completely lost interest. Unless you were playing their stupid "Hockey Ultimate Team" shit you might as well not have bothered.
