Now projecting a Lib majority. If this happens I'm trying to think of a bigger turnaround (or fumble) in Canadian political history. Please let this happen. I was scared enough of Pierre under normal circumstances but with all this 51st state shit going on we REALLY can't afford him.

All PP had was "I'm not Trudeau". Once he lost that and didn't pivot to strongly denouncing Trump and cutting out the childish taglines he probably cost himself the election.

What are the general feelings toward Carney? I've looked him a little and like what I've read, but I also know most of us here share the same wing of political beliefs.

Pretty much this but his professional and educational background makes him well-suited to navigate the chaos Trump has inflicted on us. I don't think Milhouse would do nearly as well and also will not denounce Trump strongly enough.

Trump and the 51st state stuff are a big factor in how people will vote, and most don’t trust Pierre and most trust Carney to handle it, that’s pretty much what it boils down to imo. What Zetterberg said is true, his background adds to that trust and Pierre’s lack of any real world experience makes people wary of how he’d deal with it.

Canadian politics is very different from the US. Candidates get turfed from the party for saying stuff like that regularly. It isn't an online thing.
The cons dropped 3 candidates today for example for various gaffes and idiocy.
