I hope that humans have grown up in the last few years and realized that this isn't something to be purchased. And maybe if we ignore the band they'll go away.

he raps on "F.I.G.H.T.", before musing in the chorus "What the hell are we fighting for? Why the hell are we in this war?"

"And I mean, you could interpret them in so many ways, "Fred says about the lyrics. "There are so many wars we fight on a daily basis...everything from the literal wars in the Middle East down to the mental wars we fight inside our brains. This album is all about coming to terms with these battles we face, and saying 'it's ok, man, we're all brothers and sisters fighting in this thing...let's stand together and hold down the fort.' We want the people who listen to this record to get inspired to fight these wars, both literally and figuratively."
bwahaha
But it's not all doom and gloom. With the return of Wes Borland on guitar, the unrelenting ferocity of early Bizkit is back in fine form. "Wherever I go, whoever I play with, it'll never match the chemistry I have with the guys in this band, " Wes says before taking a sip of Chai. "Bizkit is in my blood."
As are the variety of spices in that delicious tea!
a welcome return to the Bizkit that once ruled the airwaves.
zuh?

I just heard the new John Mayer single. It's not that it's a horrible song, but the "who says I can't get stoned?" refrain is going to make it a bro anthem for the next 10 years, and fuck that.

Who Says - John Mayer

After years of popping up in Bad Album Cover lists, someone has made Ken: By Request Only widely available:

Well, I thought this one be one of three things, possibly with overlaps:
1) some putz thought he was a musician and got the terrible idea to write some songs and press a record, which he filled with very heartfelt and ham-handed tunes, stuff like "I Never Go Fishing Anymore" about the time there wasn't any canned tuna left in his one-bedroom apartment

2) the neighborhood "funny guy" who was probably a closet pedophile made a novelty disc for his friends and relatives, and wrote "funny" songs about them, which he'd only do BY REQUEST ONLY

3) some sort of hysterically bombastic '70s excess, Moody-Blues-in-a-nightclub shit.

Meh. It's just some dude singing Christian stuff. No self-penned travails of mundane life, no creepy joke songs about wanting to do his bowling pal's wife, no stupid orchestral puffery. It just sounds like a kinda shitty Scott Walker. "Modern Religion" is almost soulful. If you thought this was going to be the pinnacle of Fun Bad like I did, you're going to be very let down.

If you want God music that's simultaneously cool and creepy, seek out Washington Phillips's I Am Born to Preach the Gospel. It feels like you've unearthed a box of shellac 78s from outer space.

Probably belongs in the wrestling folder, but...

Who the fuck is Rasputins Vision, and why are they doing shitty-ass covers of WWE themes? I'm seriously dying of laughter at the absurdity of this shit.

I think what he's implying is that you like Nickelback, which should be automatic grounds for disqualifying you from commenting on anything related to music criticism.

or, simply put, both your taste and posts are awful.

I like Lady Gaga! She's ugly as a mud fence and completely ridiculous, yet people of all stripes recognize she's awesome as hell. That's pop music at its finest.

Apparently Lady Gaga is only a year older than me, which is sort of astounding. I'm really having a tough time wrapping my head around it. She seems so worldly! How is she only 23?!

My gender studies/theater class filled out teacher evaluations to her videos today. I'm surprised at how apeshit everybody was going over it. Intellectuals like her almost as much as the typical pop music crowd. Who was the last person to have that effect? You'd have to go back a while at least.

I was also surprised/horrified when we watched Michael Jackson's "Thriller" earlier that half of the class had never seen it. Unbelievable!

A cover that no one wanted to hear by a band that no one cares about anymore.

Lady Gaga is just Annie Lennox backwash. Thankfully I haven't been bombarded with her music, but everything I've seen up unto this point has been pretty mundane. I guess Poker Face is about blowjobs. Nevertheless, it's nothing different than the trance music + female vocal music that has been floating around the proper circles for the past ten years anyways.

It's not? You're right, I guess having a dick and ripping off a post-modern aesthetic changes the whole game.

You and I, Byron--we're caught in a bad romance. You see? You'll always be a criminal as long as you're with me.

Oh, shut up.

No, he's right. Lady Gaga is pretty terrible. I can't imagine anyone finding her worldly, she's just another immature pop star with a lot of money who doesn't give a fuck what people think, so she says what she feels like. She's like Liam Gallagher.

But I'll bite anyway; how the fuck does she seem so worldly?
