Pinball Arcade update for iOS has Bridge of Pinbot available for purchase, and Medieval Madness for free ad supported. Unfortunately after downloading the update it no longer works at all on my iPad1. Sure glad I downloaded that update!

Smues' scores make me feel like I'm wasting my time even playing this.

Also I hate Arabian Nights now because this alleged multi-ball I was supposed to get to save the princess did nothing (am I supposed to launch them myself? The instructions were unclear on this), I kept hitting the genie, I thought I was doing well and then I lost my ball and was told the genie won and I had to start collecting jewels all over again. Then I saw Smues' score and got mad.

That multi-ball is awesome, you get 4 balls unlimited until someone wins. Yes you have to launch them, didn't you see the ball sitting down by the plunger? It'll keep giving you a ball to launch until you have 4 going, and everytime you lose one it'll give you a new one to launch until you win or the genie win. It's a lot of fun. As to my scores, Theatre of Magic I've played the fuck out of in real life and on Pinball Arcade, so I'd like to think I'm good at it. Arabian Nights was dumb luck. I got a bunch of jewels, genie hits, and lamp spins early, then kept managing to get a high as fuck multiplier each ball.

I can't see anything whenever the screen locks in full table mode.

IIRC, your ToM score is like, 44th overall.

Really? Damn. What's funny is I haven't even been able to complete the Grand Finale yet on the x-box. Had I done it on that game where I got that score it'd be even higher.

Aside: The grand finale is lameeee. The music is all tense and you get that FIFTY MILLION voice everytime you get a letter, then when you complete it....nothing. You get your 500 million points and the game just continues. At least in Scared Stiff when you complete a Scared Stiff the machine practically has a seizure and then it's mega multi-ball time. Aside to the aside: Please god let them release Scared Stiff for the Pinball Arcade.

I had everything in place for the finale but my last ball quickly fell down a side gutter (oooh I hate those!) before I could get it started.

Ok so your score is actually 122nd overall (give or take) but I swear when I first saw the 5 billion, it was higher. I guess more people have done well since then.

I rescued the princess! Unfortunately, once again, there seems to be some issue with the game acknowledging the fact that there are 5 Wizard Goal checkmarks and no achievement has been awarded to me.

Did you unlock the Wizard Goals? I rescued that stupid bitch like 3 times before I had finished the basis goals so it didn't count.

I unlocked them through a glitch that has made me unable to get the list of wizard goals in Ripley's. Technically I've never had the Harem multiball but for some reason it gave me the achievement for standard goals and advanced me to the wizard list.

That fucking Harem multiball, that's the standard goal that took me forever to get.

Once I realized if I held the ball long enough everything stopping me from getting a harem letter would time out and I could then shoot it up there and keep going...it was easy

Next two Dlc tables announced (no idea when the consoles get the first Dlc). Circus Voltaire and Funhouse. Not digging the 'release one new one and one already available on the Williams collection 'strategy. If its pay per individual tables then it doesnt matter, but if they sell them as two packs I'll be mad. Plus Funhouse blows. At least Medieval Madness is fun.

Pinball Arcade DLC pack #1 (so I guess they are bundling each two tables together, boo) is waiting for approval from Sony, and pack #1 and #2 will be submitted to Microsoft this week. So hopefully the consoles will get the DLC soon.

DLC pack #3 is said to be coming to iOS in June, so hopefully that means they'll announce the tables soon. (crosses fingers scaredstiffscaredstiffscaredstiff)

Went to a Pizza Hut I hadn't been to in years today and they had a No Good Gophers machine. It was in really shitty condition, but I had only played it on the Williams Collection before, so I sunk a couple of bucks into it for fun. Fun table, but man was that a shitty machine. The plunger couldn't get the ball into play unless you have it close to a full strength plunge, which at least made the skill shot easy. If the ball didn't make it all the way in though it would get stuck and not fall back not, so I had to shake the shit out of the machine and suffer a tilt to get the ball to drop. And the left flipper wouldn't hold. It would flip, but then go right back down. Damn gophers.

I played the shit out of Star Wars Episode 1 pinball back in the day, and got to the point where if my quarter lasted me less than an hour, I'd be disappointed. I was hoping to buy it when my arcade went out of business, but those things are crazy expensive - I think it sold for like $4,000. :(

I imagine an Episode 1 machine would cost more than other machines. I played a lot of it back in the day but was never very good. I don't think I ever won the Darth Maul battle more than once in a game. I think maybe I did it twice one time and that was it. I played one Episode 1 machine where the video screen didn't work, that was interesting.

From facebook:

We have good news and bad news to report on the issue of licensed tables. We’ve finally succeeded in negotiating all of the licenses we’d need to bring the Twilight Zone to the Pinball Arcade. This is unquestionably one of the greatest pinball tables of all time (and is currently #1 in IPDB’s user rankings). However the licenses are VEY expensive- so expensive that the table probably isn’t commercially viable. Some of you have suggested a Kickstarter project to raise money for the license costs and we’re considering this. We’d like to ask your opinion- is this a good idea? If we did it what should the rewards be for backers, and at what contribution levels? We’d appreciate your thoughts!

Quick console update: The first 360 update will include both DLC packs. The PS3/Vita updates may include both DLC packs. They'll certainly include MM and Bride. All console updates are at least 3 weeks away from being released.

I'm glad they're trying to dish out all the current DLC packs at once for the consoles since they're behind the curve as it is.

Edit: If I had an experience playing The Twilight Zone machine and had any attachment to it (played it at a tournement when I was 10 or 11 years old, got to the 3rd round then got smoked) then I might be sad that it's VEY expensive to license. If they do use Kickstarter for it I'm not likely to pay anything towards it unless there's some cool rewards. Now if they used Kickstarter to get Scared Stiff? SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY.

Had a heartbreaking round of ToM this afternoon before work. I managed 3 extra balls (6pm, 600M, and Digitla Pinball) and seemed well on my way to finally finishing my Wizard Goals of getting the Grand Finale... then I absolutely played a terrible final ball where I missed the skill shot (so there went an easy 8th illusion), hit bumpers, then lost the ball shortly after the "ball save" light went off. I've been closer and scored higher, but because I was SO SURE I actually was going to get the final illusion without resorting to the aide of a skill shot (which is how I get them, generally) on my 2nd last ball, but I lost that on a bad flip.

I did get the HAREM multiball in Tales the other day though, which retroactively filled my checklist of standard goals that got glitched, so that was good. Now that I see doing all the goals gets the TILT warning off, I'm assuming that's how people have really good scores (I don't know how to effectively use tilting though).

Where I work has its pinball machine swapped out occasionally by some company that supplies them, but we were never slow enough for me to play the T2 machine before they swapped it out for the South Park one, which is a blast and my rusty self was able to play for a good while off of one credit.

My other favorite pinball machine was a broken Pirates of the Caribbean machine at the arcade at the Bellagio that never seemed to know for sure whether the ball was in play or not. While the ball was in play, it would do a bumper check trying to find the ball, and then shoot out another ball because it thought the first one was lost. I think at one point I had seven balls going at one time, it was hot!

The bellagio has an arcade? I never managed to find it.

I really want to go to the pinball museum in Vegas but I'm usually there when It's too damn hot to make the walk.

Yeah, it was right across the hall from the internationally themed coffee shop with all the flags. It was there in December 2010, anyway, not sure if it still is. It had a Pump It Up machine too, so I was quite happy with it, heh.

Where's the pinball museum located at? I'll have to try to find it the next time I'm there.
