Seriously, I couldn't think of the name of this film for MONTHS on end, but sadly I did remember it happening. Brenden Frasier slides into second place. EIGHTY-ONE PITCHES! EIGHTY-ONE STRIKES!

The Scout?

Did someone just confuse The Scout with The Natural? You couldn't get much different for two movies from the same subgenre. Though I guess both are equally unrealistic in their own ways.

Oh and Little Big League>Rookie of The Year in terms of mediocre kids movies of the early '90s about kids becoming a part of MLB.

81 pitches 81 strikes and Brendan Frasier made me think of The Scout first. I highly doubt he was in The Natural.

Am I the only one who liked Rookie of the Year as a kid?

I thought it was OK. I preferred Little Big League due to the fact that I read and enjoyed the novelization of it during downtime in my 3rd grade class. Novelizations of movies...do they still do that shit? Not only do I have a novelization of Good Burger in my house but I have a sequel to the novelization of Good Burger kicking around somewhere!

Sure. I came across the novelization of Snakes on a Plane in a bookstore not too long ago. Tried without luck to find the line.

The image is from Mr. Baseball, which featured Tom Selleck going to Japan to play baseball. Brendan Fraser's vehicle was indeed the Scout. I still have the Scout on dvd in its original shrinkwrap.

The Scout isn't a bad movie to watch when it's on HBO in the middle of a Wednesday afternoon and you're too lazy to change the channel. I guess my enjoyment of Albert Brooks slightly overrides my dislike of mind numbing plot contrivances.

Fuck that noise. Pic of him during his retirement game with Walter is probably my favourite sporting pic ever; that trumps.

Oh, I know it's the Scout. Hilarious movie if for nothing else him sitting on the ROOF OF YANKEE STADIUM and not wanting to come down and pitch.

but as for what i was referring to:

The Scout > Mr. Baseball, mainly for the reason I mentioned above and Ozzie Smith.

Panthers had pretty good sweaters for a team that shouldn't exist.

"Nomar Garciaparra, Chicago Cub" was a short-term odd uniform, but he was one of my favorite Cubs during his brief injury-riddled tenure. That's because I'm an idiot.

Nothing wrong with Molitor, it was just so fast that he was here and then gone. I hardly remember this at times.

I know. It's just that the 3 year period literally flew by for me, sometimes it feels like it never happened. Plus 94 and 95 were ripped off seasons with the strike.

I couldn't find Paul Coffey in a Whalers sweater anywhere. 20 games in their last season, though.

There we go.

Man, those mid-90s Whalers sweaters were awesome.
