I searched high and low online, but I could not find the Randall Poffo baseball card from the late 70's

Same. I don't think they made minor league baseball cards back in the '70s.

Did find this;

Does that say John Elway? It's...kinda small.
Yeah, I couldn't find a bigger pick. Elway played a year for the Oneonta Yankees and may have been their #1 prospect briefly. He took the NFL career instead.

Wow...don't remember Brunell as a Saint at all

He's the current back up ;)

Really? Wow.

This too is currently happening? o_O

I figured BruiserBrody was being sarcastic. I was following up with a statement that could work either way :)

Wasn't marino drafted by the same team?
Sort of. Marino and John Elway were both drafted out of high school by the Kansas City Royals in 1979. Neither player signed. (Dan Marino FWIW was a fourth round pick as a pitcher.) Both opted for college. Elway was drafted again after college, but Marino never played pro baseball.

Elway hit .318 in 42 games with Oneonta, stole 13 bases, walked more than he struck out, slugged .464 and had eight outfield assists. He easily might have been a star baseball player.

If only he signed with Montreal, Chicago, and Detroit.

Then he would probably be the only player ever to play for all 6 original six teams.

Vic Lynn played for all six. Bronco Horvath played for all except Detroit (he also played for Minnesota). Leroy Goldsworthy played for all except Toronto (this was actually BEFORE the Original Six. He also played for the New York Americans.)

I still think someone signs him before the end of the year.

Good one, especially now that the 3 game experiment is over.

I guess you can throw this one in too:

and pretty much this one

Since those runs were so short compared to his 10 year run in Philly.

Eh...I enjoyed A.I. and 'Melo scoring 25-30 a game each in Denver while it lasted at least. But yeah, Detroit and Memphis were huge busts for him.

Anyways...

I wonder how Falcons' fans feel about "what could've been" with Favre. I never hear much talk about it.

I think because he was in and out so fast most fans don't even remember him.

Even though it's current, still looks weird to me:

I consider myself an Antoine aficionado (got tickets to see him play with his D League team against the Maine Red Claws this week lol!) and even I don't remember him playing for Memphis.

The Giants traded for him since he had just won the Super Bowl with the Niners, and he would bring in fans. However, he then signed with the Cowboys, causing San Franciscans to boo him. He was not brought back the next season.
