I wanna know who the NJPW stan harassing CWM is.

I'm a fan of big ass tournaments but yeah, it's seems poorly structured and filled with too many geezers and lackeys.

I agree with CWM here (I haven't always agreed with him, but respect his opinions). I mentioned in my post about Ibushi/Naito in the first round. I don't like that at all. I love Umino, but agree with the dads, Honma, and lesser guys being taken out.

NJPW is now booked in the single most unpredictable way. Not sure if I like it.

Well I told you that Ibushi wasn't going to be winning the title at MSG man so I don't think this was that unpredictable. It makes having Naito going out in the first round even more frustrating though. I'm assuming they'll do a Naito/Ibushi program out of it but they could have done that from a quarter finals as well.

I haven't watched this weekend's show yet, but outside of a couple of bad matches, this has been a pretty fun tournament. Some surprising upsets, and some solid to great matches. Still upset Naito vs Ibushi was first round, but I'm not going to get too pissed since it happened, and nothing we can do about it. It made a great match, so that made up for the disappointment.

Everything would be forgiven in the unlikely event SANADA wins the Cup or hell even goes to the Finals.

I also final;ly watched the Baba tribute show. Fun stuff and they should try and do an inter-promotional singles match between Tanahashi and Miyahara at some point, maybe even at the Dome. They've got fantastic chemistry and the fans were super into it.

I could see SANADA winning it if the main event at MSG wasn't at stake. The rumor has always been that Omega was going to drop the title back to Okada at MSG and when he left that Jay White took over his story through that time. If that's to be believed, than Okada would be beating Jay at MSG. Gedo hates to deviate from the script he has. I'd love to see SANADA win (shit, I wanted Suzuki to get the Title at MSG as I'll be there), but I'd say he vs Okada will be the Final, and it'd be great.

Juice vs Chase for the US title on the final night of the NJ Cup. Let's see how Chase steps it up in his first major singles match.

I was hoping this would be added to MSG. I'm a big Juice fan, and I like heel Chase much more than face Chase.

i watched the Sanada semis and finals and will watch the other cup matches (I just had to skip to those as a fan). Went into the Finals not knowing the result (but knowing in my heart) and loved it. Their title match was better but this was really good and told a great story and left with you with the feeling if he'd JUST hit that Moonsault he would have had it. Okada gives his opponents so much while looking incredible, it's why he's the best lesson in what being the Ace is since at least Misawa.

I still find some of the booking of the opening round puzzling and don't think they needed to put so many guys in but the tournament ended up delivering where it mattered and putting over SANADA so strong was the absolute right move. If it wasn't for the MSG show they should have had him win tbh. Losing another title shot won't hurt him and going over MiSu/Goto/Tana/Okada in one tourny would have been a career achievement.

Wrestling purists might cry foul (and I haven't watched any of NJ Cup yet) but I can't get super into Sanada on account of how terrible his facial hair is. :-[

People have been raving about the SHO/Shingo match from the opening night of the BOSJ. I watched it last night and goddamn, that was the best match I've seen in awhile. Don't know if I'd give it 5 stars or anything but it's really fucking good and you all should go out of your way to watch it.

He then followed it up with another fucking banger against Dragon Lee on Night 3. I'm watching Night 4 now, and Ospreay vs Rocky is suppoed to be phenomenal.

Just finished Rocky vs Ospreay and, holy shit that was fantastic. Rocky is still so good in the ring. The story the match told was great.

NJPW has an English language podcast on their YouTube page hosted by Chris Charlton. The're on episode 5, and they're about 30 minutes in length. Very good shows.
