Yeah, they can't bring any foreigners over (Iike Bryan) because of the quarantine period. It is what it is but he'll be there next year.

They're in a terrible position with the quarantine rules. The only other thing they can do is bring in talent form other companies and I don't know if they want to do that or if the other companies would be able to make anyone available considering how badly they're all hurting too. Everyone has to protect their guys from being overworked right now even more than usual.

You could maybe offer CIMA some money or something but I don't know that he'd make any real difference to NJPW fans at this point (at least as a heavy) that it would be worth it especially given his reputation for being hard to work with.

it's njpw so I assume persevering the status quo ante of Suzukigun is what will happen but man they need to pull the trigger on Taichigun so bad. Suzuki would be way better on his own anyway. You could either turn Taichigun into faces (which the fans would love) or have then turn on MiSu and have him hell bent on revenge (which they'd also love) and eventually MiSu teams up with guys like Tana/Ibushi/Okada etc for awkward buddy tags.

Jay White and Juice Robinson are being advertised for the NJPW STRONG tapings in September and October, which would mean that they'll miss the G1 Climax.

I definitely think not having Switchblade (and to a much lesser extent, Juice) in G1 sucks but I kind of get NJPW's thinking. It's a rebuilding year anyway and might as well keep the gaijins happy and back home where things are less restricted. Might as well give those spots to a Great O-Khan or Henare (or even a Dad making one last run or junior like Hiromu).

The whole event was a lot of fun. There were some great matches, big surprises, and build up to to the upcoming Strong tapings. This show felt like a re-boot for Strong and a real start to the NJPW US brand. I'm very excited to see where everything goes.

8 guys in njpw including all of LIJ in COVID protocols (although the whole roster is fully fully vaxxed at least so thats good) so ouch.

On the bright side last night SHO turned on YOH. Hope that means we get SHO in the G1 at the very least. I've said for a long time he especially has a lot of potential.
