Have patience. I swing at a lot of pitches out of the zone and the computer knows that. Really if you can get 2-0 in a count, you can usually get a good pitch to hit. Also, I use the pitch guess feature (MLB The Show 2010, not sure of 2012 has it) and it helps.

I'm starting to steal bases in the game which is helping me get extra runs. However I can't control my base runners after a sacrifice fly. I end up sending both the runners instead of one when they are on 1st and 3rd.

I'm chipping at pitches even if I get a 2-0 count. That's my problem. Its annoying when my batter chips a very hittable pitch, and when I pop up the screen it tells me "Perfect" swing, I'm frustrated beyond belief.

I know you can use one of the sticks to choose where to hit the ball. That might help or just use power swings. I don't use the regular swing button anymore.

Oh, so the regular swing button isn't worth it? Urgh... This might explain everything. I've been solely using it. I'll try using power swings.

Perfect refers to timing, not location. You timed it right, you just hit the very top of the ball. Aim lower.

Last game was pretty fun. Was down 3-0 with Eric Bedard starting, and looking like I'd lose the game, when Booker Koenig blasted a two shot home run. I was really excited since it was the top of the 8th and I was within striking distance. Then Pedro Alveraz comes up with his .111 batting average and blasts another home run and I tied it up. Next inning I actually scored my first runs without the long ball and won 6-4, cause my closer coughed up a homer. Fun little game and brought my record to 4-0.

But I am totally sucking at this hitting thing. I just moved my team's batting average up to .245 with that game. Though, considering I hit the ball well (11 hits), maybe I'm starting to get the hang of it.

Then again I did play the Astros. They kinda suck. Lots of blue spots on the hitting reports.

I lost two in a row to the Rockies while playing as 2010 Astros. I have Berkman and Pence and they hit a lot of home runs. My bullpen is shaky sometimes. Matt Lindstrom can throw a fastball 99 mph but gives a lot of runs. Brandon Lyon is 9 for 9 in saves and we're in the middle of the NL Central.

The Kickstarter to get the original Leisure Suit Larry with updated graphics/touch interface ported to mobile devices reached it's goal of $500,000 so the game should happen. This makes me very happy.
