Right i cant understand the following.

The new PS3 is going to retail at £250

The new PSPgo is going to retail at £230

Can anyone make sence of that?

The Go vs. PS3 slim in USD is $249 vs. $299.

It's Sony, go figure.

There's reports around that the PS3 slim is still sold at a big loss. Oh Sony, you were not e.

Anyone who buys the PSPgo is silly imo. The whole purpose of me having a psp is the fact i can run all sorts of emulators and have any ps1 title i want.

Having to ensure they are downloaded legit from the PSN is surely gonna bring its demise.

Just help a brother out, what's a PSPgo compared to its former model?

Downloaded games only. No UMD slot.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PSP_Go

Unlike previous PSP models, the PSP Go does not feature a UMD drive, but instead has 16GB of internal flash memory to store games, video and other media.[8] This can be extended by up to 32GB with the use of a Memory Stick Micro (M2) flash card. Unlike previous PSP models, the PSP Go's rechargable battery is not removable or replacable by the user. The unit is 43% lighter and 56% smaller than the original PSP-1000[5], and 16% lighter and 35% smaller than the PSP-3000.[2] It has a 3.8" 480x272 LCD[9] (compared to the larger 4.3" 480x272 pixel LCD on previous PSP models).[10] The screen slides up to reveal the main controls. The overall shape and sliding mechanism are similar to that of Sony's mylo COM-2 internet device.[11]

If you're a one-handheld system kind of guy, I'd stick with the older models. This is more like a complimentary system to go alongside the PSP3000/2000.

Ah thanks Dubq. I think i'll pass on that. Once I get my first pay in roughly 35 days time I was going to get a PSP. I'm quite out of touch with the gaming industry in general at the moment (mainly because of being out of work for so long, I didn't want to be teased by what I didn't have) and i've always wanted a PSP (Found them much more intriguing than the DS, which I chose over the PSP a long time ago.)

I know I sure want to buy a PSPGo so I can re-buy all the games I own on UMD! (Assuming there isn't some way to copy them over, which there very well might be. Or I should say there SHOULD be.)

Thanks Sorny. I sure can't wait for them to release a game that I must own that's PSPgo only with no UMD version for those of us who don't give a shit about the PSPGo. I just know that day is coming.

If it becomes possible to play roms and all that stuff on the Go, then I'd have no problem with it replacing the PSP. Storing all of your games digitally is the more attractive option - people do it with music, right?

Its probably going to take ages to hack the PSPgo considering all previous incarnations have required a UMD to be in the drive at all times.

Ill be honest, ive had a Jap white PSP since it was released, and rarely play the damn thing. Im only holding onto it because of 3 games.

1) I can play FFVII on the move (had it way before it was officially released)

2) Crisis Core is fucking awsome

3) Kingdom Hearts will be fucking awsome (no-one will tell me otherwise)

I caved and bought a PS3. Got it off eBay with MGS4, Resistance, Skate, NBA 2k9 and Madden 09 for $250 total. Granted I'll never touch Madden except to ship it off to anybody who'll give me anything for it since I have 10 on 360, but I couldn't pass up 4 good games & a console for $50 less than the newly-price-dropped console itself.

So we're at firmware 3.0 for PS3 now. Why do they keep releasing these firmwares that really only change the look of things instead of actually DOING something? At least, if it does do something, I haven't noticed it yet.

I tried to hook up my blackberry to my PS3 via bluetooth to try and download some songs to the PS3 but it seems my cel doesn't find any bluetooth devices near even if my PS3 is right in front of me. Anything I'm missing or doing wrong regarding bluetooth connections with the PS3? I'd appreciate any help.

Yes, I can hook up my blackberry to my PS3 with a USB cable, it's just that I wanted to test the bluetooth capabilities of the PS3 and I didn't know if I was doing something wrong since I figured my blackberry would find the PS3 or viceversa but it doesn't seem to work. I heard the PS3 remote control is connected via bluetooth, as well as some headphones and webcams but since I don't have any of those perhiperals (sp?) I was wondering what other uses I can take advantage of via bluetooth with my PS3.

It seems the ps3 is only capable of connecting to peripherals that its programmed for use with, aka the controller, webcam etc. Data transferage isnt possible with bluetooth.

Edit: SWEET 3.00 added the BBC Iplayer to my ps3!

So I attempted this latest update last night. I left it downloading and installing for maybe half hour. I return to a red screen saying serious error: call for support. And that is all it does. I do not approve of this.

Excuse my ignorance, but what's that for and what makes it so special?

BBC iPlayer (formerly known as Integrated Media Player (iMP),[2][3] Interactive Media Player,[4] and MyBBCPlayer[5]) is a service available via website, P2P, cable television, and several mobile devices developed by the BBC to extend its existing RealPlayer-based "Radio Player" and other streamed video clip content. BBC iPlayer left Beta and went live on 25 December 2007.[6] On 25 June 2008 a new-look iPlayer was launched, originally as a beta-test version alongside the earlier version.[7]

Edit: That doesn't really explain anything.

Someone else will fill you in. Basically it's an online thing that you can watch shows you've missed.

BBC is a network that broadcasts programming in the UK, the Iplayer lets us watch BBC programming whenever we want a week since its inital air date for free.

I also just found out it works on the Wii.

Haha. I wasn't aware that you could watch ANYTHING from the last seven days. Sorry.
