Fuck yeah, whatever they did with the last patch finally fixed my lag issues. There are a few hiccups here and there but it's leaps and bounds better than what it had regressed to after the January 26th patch. Here's hoping this fix is permanent.

So, what's people's verdict so far? Getting in my new laptop tomorrow supposedly and although most of my time will be devoured by Diablo 3, as a Star Wars geek I have thought about picking this up. Biggest gripes about it? Biggest cheers?

My biggest gripe was the game (not server) lag. They fixed it so I'm all good on that front. My new biggest gripe is server populations. The server I am on now used to be rammed, but now it's low pop so it's almost impossible to group up. If you create a toon, do it on one of the HEAVY servers (there are a few now). Thankfully transfers are coming in the Summer.

Aside from that, the game itself is really fun. It has a lot of Mass Effect and Dragon Age style mechanics built into it, especially with the followers, it's pretty cool.

My friends and family are playing Empire and Dark. Its depressing because I can't team up with many of them, as I went Republic.

Traitors.

Also, Vibroswords > Lightsabers.

I have 4 characters going right now. 2 Republic (Trooper & Smuggler) and 2 Empire (Sith Warrior & Bounty Hunter). All of them are under 10, though, except for the Smuggler (who was my main) that I just hit 50 with last week.

Up to 7 characters over 20 but none over 40.

Playing a dark side Empire character would be boring unless you're 12.

So does the Jedi Knight storyline get... Well, any better? Its not really outstanding or anything. Its just sort been there. I'm kinda hoping it suddenly gets more awesome. Not that its bad, its just... I don't feel like I'm a Jedi Knight.

What level are you at? I'm at 26 on Tatooine and it's all right. At around level 33 - 36 you'll finish Act 1 and that's where things come to a head and get more exciting.

I don't really pay attention to dark or light.. I usually answer based on which companion is with me (ie: if it will give me an approval boost). Is there a point to it aside from the relics and gear?

I really enjoyed the Smuggler storyline. So far my second favourite is the Bounty Hunter one, no surprise. I really hope that they plan to continue these class-based stories with future expansions. That'd be pretty cool.

I also love that they added the ability to unlock previously unavailable races to any class. IE: reach 50 with a Sith race character and you can use that race for any class, Imperial or Republic. I like the idea of making a good natured Jedi Sith.

A dark side player will show effects of their dark choices with a messed up sithy face. Aside from that just slightly different mission outcomes.

Its not hat I feel the story isn't good, its just taking a long time for it to heat up. I like my characters more than I do the story. That's not a bad thing, but there isn't a lot of that either.

Update 1.3 is coming this summer. Nothing huge, but a lot of small things that make a difference, IMO.

End of Act 1 is pretty cool, more of an epic feel than other stories.

Its also getting harder and harder to solo. Then again, my gear still sucks a lot.

Haven't played a lot since I've been sick and dealing with a very stupid schedule but that's nice to know since I was about to boot it up. Also, I've got to be playing on one of the lowest pop servers, because I never find anyone at any time. Its like a damn ghost town.

Then again, everyone could just be at 50 and bored. Could be that too.

What servers are you guys on? When server transfers come with this patch we sould see about getting on the same one, providing we're looking for the same experience (PVE vs PVP).

I think I'm on Hyperspace Cannon. Its like the deadest place in the Galaxy. NOTHING happens. I went on today, thinking maybe I'd hit someone up. Sure, little early for hope, but still was hopeful.

Nope. Notta. Ugh.

I'm on Shadowlands PVE and it's pretty dead too, depending on your side. I notice there are always a shit-ton more Empire folks on than Republic folks. Still low, but not impossible to group. On the Republic side I've found it impossibly to put together a group for arguably two of the most important and popular Flashpoints for level 50s (Battle of Ilum/False Emperor). These are part of the story and I can't even go through them due to the low pops. Yeah, those transfers cannot come soon enough.

Its like dead on both sides from what I hear, but yeah, Imperials outnumber the Republic on my server as well. Its kinda weird though, because you would think it should be more balanced.

I would like to see people in some of the other zones as well, since I play MMOs to you know... Go MMOing. If I want a single player experience, I'll go grab KOTOR. Just started up Consular today and Tython has two people in it. One of them was me.

Finally got around to re-installing this on my new PC and spent about 4 hours playing last night. Finally was able to run the Ilum flashpoint thanks to the merged servers AND the groupfinder! I also like that they've added in some customization options as far as unifying the colour palette of your own gear and now your companions gear as well.

Apparently because I'm still a subscriber (and bought the CE last year) I will have something like 2500 cartel coins when they convert to F2P later this season.
