How is the audio mix? I hate when games don't do it right and when the front channel is supposed to blaring out the voice of the person on screen, for some odd reason it is randomly coming out of the left or right channel and softly.
Hot damn the multiplayer in this is really fun and addictive.

Mike, the audio in this game is spectacular. Especially if you have a home theatre setup. There are in-game options for dynamic range, which I really appreciate.
..and to answer my own question, no fps dips or screen tearing in my experience so far!
Holy shit this game feels like one massive walking dead "scavanger" epsiode, you think there is no zombies around then suddenly its all out stealth or guns blazing time.
After being pretty underwhelmed with Uncharted 3 (UC2 FTW!) I am so glad that ND has turned me around on them with this game. So much awesome!
My friend was telling me that when he connected his Facebook account to the Multiplayer mode, it pre-populated your camp's "survivors" with names from your friends list. So you will see little updates like "Joe Smith is starving" or "Jane Doe is repairing the south fence." I like little things like that that feel like a less intrusive use of social media. Good job!
Are you referring to Ellen Page capping for both? Because I'm almost positive she did not. Although I was 100% sure that Tess was the same actress who did Elena for Uncharted, they just made her a brunette. Because the facial models looked exactly alike. But apparently it wasn't :/
Wait, WTF? Is Ellie NOT Ellen Page...?? Googling seems to say it was played by Ashley Johnson? So confused.
Edit- Wow my mind is officially blown. I was so off on the actors lol. Mocap is a hell of a tool. And holy hell "Joel" has one hell of a video game resume...
I knew she was in Beyond: Two Souls. And all this time I was wondering how the hell she had so much time to mo cap two gamest that had close releases. It never occurred to me that it wasn't her at lol, as I was simply going off the character model.
Ellen Page Says The Last Of Us' Ellie "Ripped Off My Likeness"
"I guess I should be flattered that they ripped off my likeness", she says, "but I am actually acting in a video game called Beyond Two Souls, so it was not appreciated."
Naughty Dog also said they changed the likeness to better reflect the girl who did the voice acting. I wonder if there are any photos of her out there.
I still haven't had much time to play the game but I did get in another hour or so and I just passed....
Bill's booby trapped section where you have to defend Ellie while strung up upside down. Simply awesome. The tension was fantastic. Saved the game before I had to head out with Bill to find scavenge and am looking to pick it up tonight
I like how just about every situation presents multiple ways to attack enemies or you can use a combination, including just running the hell out of there until you are able to lock a door behind you. Sometimes I find that fleeing is an even more exhilirating option then fighting. I also figured out that sometimes if you have a few bad guys chasing you (runners or clickers) you can circle around your party and they will stop chasing you to attack them which gives you a chance to collect yourself and take 'em out. Just be sure to do it before they kill your party.
Been playing it when I can. The non stop stealth was a little annoying at first since I didn't realize it was going to rely THAT much on sneaking around. That feeling quickly passed and I'm really digging it. I can honestly say I was scared shitless
when I was in the flooded hotel basement. I was sneaking around and then BAM 4 or 5 fuckers started to bum rush me. Considering I was playing at 3 AM with the lights all turned off only increased the awesome moment.
Yeah I always forget to use the guy's listening ability (even after I upgraded it of all things) to scope out where clickers and runners are before I start walking into new areas and I have gotten my neck chewed on a fair amount of times for it.
I decided to give survival mode a go. There is no "listen mode" in this version of the game so it's a bit more challenging. Going to see how far I can get before giving up.
Beat the game last night. Jumps in front of Bioshock Infinite for my Game of the Year so far. It really is a story that I wish more "non-gamers" could get to enjoy. I don't want to see it turned into a movie, but it may work better as a novel or even a comic book.
I finished this last night. I didn't like Uncharted 2 as much as most people seemed to, and I can say the same about this. It's still very well done in terms of presentation and such, and the stealth stuff is more up my alley than shooting. That said, there was still plenty of shooting, and doing that with the Uncharted engine with a DualShock3 is not a ton of fun for me.
The upside down section was pretty cool, but again, being a revolver segment demanding some accuracy led to me getting chewed on a bunch.
I had a not-insignificant number of audio glitches/cutouts, and the windy spore load times were sometimes about 20 seconds to get into the game, but more often closer to like 3 minutes. It's not exactly a typical zombie game, but it's still largely a zombie game, which is pretty tired, and I am really not into. I liked it in spite of this, pretty much. I definitely took my time as usual, with the looking everywhere, scavenging and all that. The final save showed 23:03.
I haven't, and won't be doing multi-player, as I don't plan to keep the game, and using the online pass obviously reduces its value.
You have these jumps ahead in time—days, weeks, months pass. Yet your inventory and such remains the same. You cross the country, and in stark contrast to the player-controlled sections, seemingly nothing happened along the way. Not enough to make you re-load your shotgun, at least.
I don't know what the right solution is there, but it's one of those little details that brings you back to "Oh right, this is a video game."

When you jump ahead to play as Ellie, she has a bow and arrow and that's it, and has to find all of her own equipment and ammo. Joel's stays the same, presumably, because hasn't fired his gun (during that time anyway), since he's be holed up in a basement dying from his wounds.
