I didn't see a thread for this series, so I figured I would put one out there with the new one coming in a few weeks. I'm not as gung-ho on this series as a lot of people are, but just wanted to put out there for those who are planning on getting it. I have a copy pre-ordered on Amazon and just received an e-mail today the pre-order bonus has shifted to a $20 credit for a future game purchase. Anyone thinking of getting this may want to hop on.

Call of Duty 4 was probably my favorite in the series, World at War i didnt find as enjoyable, so roll on Modern Warefare 2!

I scored a web deal for MW2 @ Futureshop - $49.99 pre-order! It was a one day only thing (21st) and sold out almost immediately!

I don't mind WaW (though need to finish it), if it had been released before Modern Warfare, I'd have said it was the best COD game to date. Though the one thing that bugs me about WaW is that you feel really sluggish at times and caught up on the smallest of shit you shouldn't get caught on.

Don't enjoy multiplayer as much though.

I own COD2, 4, and World at War. COD4 was my most played game perhaps ever, as I put 100+ hours into it. Maybe a couple hundred. I really disliked WaW's online, especially the spawning. I stopped after going prestige 1 time and I haven't played that game since January.

Seems like lots of people are going back and playing 4 in anticipation for MW2. I may do the same. I probably suck severely after not having played for so long.

Yep, completed it on regular, and kept getting my ass handed to me. The amount of enemys is unreal.

The Plot
You are selected to go undercover to stop a terrorist named Makarov, which takes us to the controversial airport level which involves you slaughtering hundreds of civillians. Turns out Makarov knew you were an american agent and staged the entire thing just to shoot you and leave you for dead so all of Russia belives an american task force was behind it.

Cue america being right up shit creek and in the midst of war with russia. After alot of shooting and mayhem, Russia launches a nuke towards america, but rather than launch it onto american soil, they detonate in the stratosphere, causing a massive EMP causing everything in the sky (including the international space station) to crash into washington D.C destroying the city.

Then in a Vince Russo booking descision, it turns out that General Shepard, the man behind the black ops which resulted in the civillian massacre planned it all to force americans to join the Marines and fight for their country against anyone who will stand against his idealism. So the Soap boys etc go postal and take both Shepards men and Makarovs men out in the final battle.

Like I said, the amount of ememys is unreal, especially when playing as the Yanks.

Its just as fun as MW but on the short side as per usual, it took me around 6hrs to clear, but thats not collecting all the enemy intel etc.

I havn't tried the Special Ops mode yet, but ill save that for another day cause i want to start Dragon Origins tonight.

5hrs 13mins 10secs flat. Beat it on regular..

and wow. Seriously..

To clear something up..its not the Russians that send the missle into the sky. Its actually Price. He mentions prior to the mission that the only way to put out a grease fire is to start a much larger fire..something that'll suck up all the oxygen from the smaller fire. So Price decides to launch the missle..

as already noted, after a mission in which you extract some intel and grab the files you meet Shephard who asks if you have the files. As you nod, he says something along the lines of "good..time to clean up the loose ends" and shoots you and Ghost while on the radio you hear Price say that Shephard's men are firing on him and that Shephard isn't to be trusted. A few minutes later you awake to see Shep's men tossing you into a ditch along with Ghost..his men then pull out a gas tank and pour it all over you and Ghost. Shep then takes his cigar and tosses it on to you..setting you ablaze and making you the 2nd character KIA in the game...

Ah I mistook it as Price not reaching the Sub in time, and it got launched. I liked the Astronaut perspective of the blast.

I'm debating if I will head to EB Games next Monday night for the midnight opening and pick up my copy then, or just pick it up on Tuesday or Wednesday

From what I've heard, that is only a multiplayer option. So word of warning there.

Man, that plot summary looks absolutely wacky. I mean, I knew it was going to be wacky judging from the trailers and where this stuff takes place, but wow. I'll still get it, but I was hoping for a bit more subterfuge and realism instead of something that sounds like it should be starring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence.

A bunch of kids from around here got it early from a local shop. My friend says it's amazing. I'm not big on COD so I will wait on it. If someone gives it to me as a Christmas present, then hey, I'll take it, but idk, I'm not all that psyched on it, probably because I don't play multiplayer that often, and the campaign modes are pretty short and uninspired.

So Supposedly any online stats achieved before the official release date will be erased and set back to zero once the official release date comes.

I will be picking this up Monday at Mightnight......if there is anything that can get me to put down Uncharted 2 for awhile, it is this.

I heard the same thing. Most of the people I know that have it already are too afraid to try multiplayer, and are just going through campaign.

Well, if you have a modded X-Box they will probably catch you anyways as your bound to unlock some achievements, and it's kinda hard to get some achievements for a game that isn't released yet.

Thats the thing tho, some retailers started selling it as early as last week, and thats when MS hit the banwaves. Mainly to catch the modding scene, but they also took out some legit, but unlucky COD6 players.

I'll probably pick the game up during the midnight launch tonight. The girlfriend is working at 6am tomorrow so I'll be up until midnight or later by myself anyways, so might as well pick the game while I'm awake and bored.

So I picked up the game last night at the midnight launch. It was almost 2:00am by the time I bought my copy since there were about 250 people or more lined up outside of the store. I had to work at 9:30 this morning and bring my girlfriend to work for 5:30am so I had to go to bed once I got home last night. I probably won't get a chance to play the game till later tonight, but at least I got my copy now.

Dunno how online play was with the 360 last night, but the PSN was fucked, I bet their servers were overloaded because whenever me and my friend tried to invite each other to a spec ops game, it kept saying the game session was no longer valid, and only online we could do was just randomly joining a game.

360 has been smooth all day, a part from the odd tit trying to lag glitch to get cheap kills.

Looks like it's working again. I was just playing online about a half hour ago.
