I got a download for 1.02 when I booted up last night. I didn't have any problems with online prior to that so I'm not noticing a difference. Either way, the Spec Ops missions are insanely fun!

I'm almost done the single player campaign, but it is insanely epic to say the least. Multi-player is pretty fun, but I suck pretty bad (1 kill for every 2-2.5 deaths). On a side note, thank God for perks for death streaks....keeps me from sucking too hard.

Okay.. I hadn't tried Spec Ops with someone else yet, just solo.. but after 1.03 downloaded.. we can't seem to set up a party. I guess this patch didn't fix that? Keeps giving the "invite is no longer valid" message. :(

Regular multiplayer is fine, though.

Don't feel too bad, I'm probably worse than you are.

One match I could rack up 17 kills, then the next I could go out and end up with 4 or 5.

I do feel that i have gotten somewhat better this time than I was on Call of Duty 4.

Still waiting for MW2 from Gamefly. It was shipped on Monday but hasn't gotten here yet, so now I'm paranoid that it's lost in the mail, and thus I'm going to be stuck with a different game since I doubt they're getting a fast turnaround on this title.

What update is on the game? I'm not connected to the net and it had me update from the disc.

Holy shit. When you have to run to the rooftop to get to the helicopter and you dont have any guns and there are like 100 people chasing you... that shit was insane. Then you have to jump to the rope ladder to the helicopter.

For anyone who has beaten the game... I'm in the Gulag. It says "For The Record". How far into the game am I?

So they got rid of dedicated servers for the PC version? Not much chance I'll play online now.

Haven't even touched the single player yet, a part from the first few missions. Multiplayer is decent, but fuck the lack of dedicated servers on the xbox. As soon as an American comes into a room, it fucks over all the Europeans and causes shit loads of lag. Sadly, this isn't exclusive to COD, as it happens in most other games too.

Where the hell is martydom in multiplayer now? I thought I got a message that said I unlocked it, but I don't see it.

It's a death streak now. I only wish Last Stand had followed it into that excellent new idea.

Pretty awesome...my only complaints are 1) the story is a little too unrealistic (OTOH its a game so no big deal) and 2) the single player is way too short. The Spec Ops missions nice. Multiplayer is great...better than WaW. I think it's going to take me forever to unlock all the attachments for the guns.

Never really played COD 4 or WaW multiplayer so this is my first real exposure to it, and I'm hooked. The fact that every match or 2 you either level up, unlock a new perk, gun, attachment or something keeps it from getting too stale. I`m up to level 19, and although its a long ways away, I`m already debating weither or not I should prestige when I hit 70 or not.

Yeah, it's pretty fun. My only complaints is that being level 5 and having to compete with guys who are level 30 kind of sucks. Oh, and I'm already hating that Rust map, it's just madness on there and it pretty much ends anytime someone gets a helicopter.

Aren't there "Newbie" rooms where you have to be level 10 or under to play in? WaW had it and it's a good way to get started if you are still new to the multiplayer.

I was going to wait to pick this up, but fuck it.

I played it WaW on the 360 but have the new one for the PS3 so unless I'm missing something I haven't seen any option that limits your opponents level.

Finally beat the game tonight after 2 nights of it.

The part where you had to send the files on the computer and protect the computer while it sent was riiiiidiculous. Shit was insanely fucking hard. Especially where my checkpoint put me. I had to execute like 2 moves perfectly with basically no time to get past it. Fuuuuuuck that part.

9 hours complete on Veteren, was pissing myself with laughter nearly all the way through the last part of the game. Was every crazy set piece from Hollywood you've ever seen!

That was easily the most difficult part of the campaign. I may try it again on Veteran, but that part is making me think twice.

On a side note, if anyone can find rooms where you play against similarly skilled players then let me know about it. Sucks when all I play against is level 30 and 40's when I'm only at 19.

Here's the thing with COD multiplayer...you are going to get killed..A LOT...when you first start out and it can get very VERY frustrating, but levelling up doesn't really take that much time and once you start unlocking perks and weapons and do some experimenting, you will find the right custom made combo to have you smoking fools just as easily as they were smoking you before.

Agreed. I may have 5 hours punched in and I'm at level 19. I still almost die 2 times for every 1 kill, but that ratio was at about 5-1 until I started figuring out the maps and learning other players tendencies.

You pretty much hit the nail on the head, and you can x100 "you are going to get killed a lot" for those of us that didn't even have the first Modern Warfare because we are that much more behind in hours played. I mean the game has been out a week and sometimes when I go online to play team deathmatch I am throw in games with people ranked between 30-50 while I am approaching a meager 13 right now due to my limited availability to play on weekdays. It is good practice and all, but sometimes I really do have to talk myself down from the frustration I feel when it feels like I am just getting sniped no matter what direction I take two steps in.

I've pretty much given up on caring how much I get killed and am just worrying about at least trying to return the favor. I also have noticed that once you start unlocking perks that upgrade your gun it will start to make a difference. My best advice that I can give from my experience is don't necessarily always switch to the newly unlocked gun, rather find a gun you enjoy using and concentrate on getting tons of kills with THAT gun and then you will keep unlocking upgrades for it which will make it into an even better gun.

Since I can't aim for shit, I always go for a gun with high damage and a lot of rounds before having to reload. It'll take me about 50 bullets, but I'm getting that kill!

I haven't played MW2 yet, but the M4 and RPD were really what got me my sea (desert? forest? spooky boat?) legs in the first. Available early and good for a relatively accurate spray of fire.
