UK voting on whether to remain in EU on June 23

I'm fairly astounded by this. The UK--or, should I say, England, since Scotland voted heavy to stay--has finally pulled ahead of West Virginia and Kansas in the votes-against-their-self-interest hierarchy.

Now I really want to see what Scotland does. The independence vote two years ago didn't seem that close--55-45 against--but they just went 62-38 to stay in the EU. Being tied to a UK that's about to nose dive may be enough to swing it the other way.

Just saw a bunch of leave voting fucksticks on TV who said they wish they could vote again and vote to remain because they don't like the turmoil. Holy shit I thought Americans were stupid.

On Thursday, the UK public voted 51.9 percent to 48.1 percent in favour of withdrawing from the EU, which means players from other countries within the Union might not have an automatic right to play in England once the so-called Brexit is complete.

lmao

The EU will demand free movement of EU workers as part of any trade deal England and Wales could negotiate. Norway and Switzerland had to do so and they aren't even in the EU. That's where the fun starts.

Given Northern Ireland voted completely on sectarian lines, I worry for the future there.

Really wish it was the opposite. English players suck.

LOL the English voted themselves into global irrelevance. Wait until all the young people emigrate to greener pastures and all their is left is old people and right wingers.

Ask North Korea how protectionism is working out for them.

I dunno, man. North Korea gets free rice from the US through China and they don't even have to say thank you.

Now I'm sad because I'm thinking about England and Wales accepting flour from Norway and pretending not to know it's actually coming from the EU in like 10 years. :'(

Yep, former Labour voters. They "dey took our jobs" crowd didn't like when Corbyn went out there and said there would be no cap on immigration if they remained. He will probably have to step down.

Good coverage of the rise of the nationalistic right.

Labour didn't even campaign in favor of remaining.

That is extremely embarrassing. The UK is essentially a hard right wing country now.

Shadow foreign secretary Hilary Benn was sacked from the shadow cabinet by UK Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn today following reports of a coup to oust him from his position as leader. Now there are reports up to half the shadow cabinet are set to resign.
