RATES drew all blanks. POUCH was a good word to knock out two more vowels and three more consonants. C could not be 4th and would be far-fetched as 5th so it was likely a COU_ _ word. With the letters that were gone and available, COULD seemed like a good bet.

I was sure the word was limit and made it my 5th guess. The trouble I fall into is trying to sound out words phonetically when I have enough letters in there and I was looking for a hard consonant sound in the middle when the letters I had were LI__T.
