Martel's spot was sorta usurped by Jarrett, sadly. But he would've been a perfectly good workhorse for the Million Dollar Corporation, certainly much better than IRS.

He and Bret have to be roughly the same age.

Babyface Owen vs Martel sounds great in my head as well in the lead up to WM 9. Maybe even a viable ladder to get Martel some house show title matches in Bret's first run as champ.
Martel being appalled by the slovenly Duggan is even a fresh mid-card match (we never got?). A bit of a take off of the Dibiase/Duggan "Best dressed man" angle of 84 for Watts.
You might even get some good matches out of Zombie Taker if they do some goofy angle where Martel infiltrates the Funeral Parlor set and yells at Bearer for it reeking of death, and then spraying the Arrogance all over the set.
The Razor and Kid in 93/94 is more fresh meat for Martel, who in this world means a little more and helps elevate those guys.

It feels like a lot of that erases Shawn, though.

The more I think about it, though, you could put Martel anywhere IRS was and it works 1000% better.

I'm very glad the Martel and Callis Supermodels team didn't get anywhere, though. I can't see it not being super annoying.
