ROFL @ that Booker T model from WWE 12. He does look like Jar Jar.

When Bret came out in my game I was like "who gave Bret a ton of HGH and drugs?"

I just can't get over "this year we added TWO COUNTS!" I can't think of a wrestling game that lacked them before '13. It almost makes it seem like they intentionally did it so that they could sell it as a new feature the next year. Is this what gaming has come to?

I can't get over how good the Impact in-game model looks. That's pushing the uncanny valley.

Yup. Welcome to the same bullshit the rest of the entertainment industry does. And holy crap is that animation terrible. How the hell does TNA have better graphics?

Because they didn't bother doing anything else with the game from what I remember. The movesets were lazy and inaccurate. Graphically the game was amazing and TNA could have had a HUGE title on their hands but..well laziness kicked in somewhere along the line in development.

They got AJ, Petey and Daniels i believe to motion cap all the moves, which turned out to be about 15 of them, then everyone got a very slightly different moveset.

Still one of my fav wrestling games to play. Except finally facing Jarret, that fucker was hard.

I dont remember actually "wrestling" anyone in that game so much as immediately running outside the ring and grabbing whatever weapons I could.

Regardless of other shortcomings of the tna game...it was 5 years ago. That its graphics still blow away the next game is unacceptable.

Honestly, if the WWE games could just be fun to play, I don't think anyone would really mind if the graphics are subpar.

I have fun for the most part too. Even though Bret and Booker look like fucking caricatures of themselves, it doesn't bother me that much. I mean, I still play HCTP regularly and those models aren't anything to write home about.

But there's no excuse for it. Indy developers with 3 guys can render hair better than that. One of your flagship games should never look like it was last Gen...especially when last Gen was 9 years ago. It speaks to the overall quality of their work when the thing that is he easiest is done so poorly.

I'd rather enjoy WM2000's multiplayer than deal with No Mercy's 5fps gameplay when there's more than 3 wrestlers on screen, but that's just me.

True that. The slowdown in multi-man matches was brutal in that game. =\

I probably enjoyed WCW/NWO Revenge the most. It didn't have as many modes as the WWF games eventually did, but I liked the gameplay more for whatever reason and the music track was good. I also loved the arenas, especially the Bash at the Beach and Halloween Havoc sets.

WM2000 was also really solid. The create a wrestler was really fun.

As far as the American games go, WM 2000 was my favorite, due to the aforementioned slowdown in No Mercy, and because of the endless career mode which had just enough continuity in the matchups where you could make up storylines if you really wanted to. But of the N64 wrestling games, me and my friends played Virtual Pro Wrestling 2 more than the rest.

So the selling points are the worst periods of the Undertaker and two counts?

They had better keep including Ministry Taker as well.. that's really the only version I'd use and I'd have him run roughshod over the entire Universe mode. ;)

I wouldn't call it unacceptable. It just needs to be tweaked. ...and it does track stuff.. it's just that it's designed to track it's own booking.. if you go in and start changing the cards then it loses the stuff it's been setting up on it's own and thus nothing ever really happens. I think that is one thing that a lot of people misread with this mode. That doesn't mean it shouldn't be changed, though. User driven storylines would be a welcome addition, IMO.
