Just read somewhere that that's the exact case - Batista, Shelton, Carlito, and Mickie are in but couldn't be shown in the reveal video or whatever.

I was thinking the same thing. I did a double take just to make sure I didn't pass Hawkins somewhere.

And the Dudebusters' gimmick is that they play video games yet they'll be lucky to have their bodytypes included in the CAS feature.

I really don't know why WWE can't just include the entire contracted roster to their annual games.

Don't wrestlers on the game roster get a cut of the sales, a la merchandising? It probably has something to do with that coupled with WWE's immature stance on punishing wrestlers for whatever reason. Remember that time they cut the Big Show off the game roster because he was getting too fat and they sent him to OVW?

WWF No Mercy. They put Steven Richards (who you could argue was one of the top heels in WWF at the time) in his place, complete with the screwy Royal Rumble finish, and having to give Triple H and Stephanie proof that he actually won.

Haha, good memory - I forgot about that storyline in that game!

Thats some crap. WCW/nWo Revenge, WWF Wrestlemania, and No Mercy had title sizes correct for the most part well over a decade ago, and modern wrestling games have such an impossible time with something like this.

The most mind boggling thing about the belt sizes is that they got it fine for 2009's game. I don't know how you can break something that's essentially a template that you copy over to the new game.

The best part of that entire roster reveal was when the guy in the crowd said Benoit winning the title was his favorite WWE moment ever.

As fate would have it, I came across and picked up WWF No Mercy and WCW/nWo Revenge at a pawn shop for $7 this afternoon. I have a 42" widescreen LCD, and HOLY HELL, No Mercy nearly gave me retina cancer. It's downright amazing what we were able to tolerate, graphically, 10 years ago. The game is still super fun, but damn is it ugly! Revenge actually looked decent. I enjoy the "Easter Egg" moves that are in the game that weren't in any subsequent AKI WWF games. Scott Hall's top rope Outsiders Edge comes to mind. The combination attacks that some wrestlers have are also a lot of fun.

Punk's beard is epic in that pic.
For real! I thought it was Mike Knox when it first flashed by in the video. I wonder why they just airbrush out the Cobra and Pepsi tattoos.. it looks so odd. Why not just modify them or change the colours or replace them with tattoos that kinda look similar but are obviously not those logos.

Yeah I've been kicking myself for ebaying my N64 and games a few years back.. but I needed the room and had nowhere to store them. I've since moved and am thinking of trying to get it all back. It shouldn't be too expensive. At least, I hope it won't be. That said I'm glad I still have a second smaller TV that I reserve for my PS2s and SNES that these games will look better on, that's for sure!

Is it too much to ask for round robin tournaments? Me and my friends used to play the crap out of World Tour. Mainly because of that.

I liked the opening cinemas for the N64 games too. One neat thing was starting with Revenge, being able to change the wrestler's costumes/colors, and the changes being reflected in the opening cinemas.

I forgot about the menu music in No Mercy. That was quite a shock from the past. "DIG-DIG-DIG-DIGGITY-DIG-DIG-DIGGITY DAWG! SOCKO!". Amazing.

Seconded, re: round robins. One of my favourite features of most Japanese wrestling games as that tournament style is still big over there.

I also loved the intros for the N64 games. Especially the Revenge one with Sting stopping the trucker.. "WHUTT?!"

When CM Punk was a counselor at Camp Cumberland, he was sent home for the statutory rape of a teenage camper. A vote for CM Punk is a vote for underage rape. CM Punk, baby rapist. Don't let him rape you, WWE Universe.

(Venkman this is a Sunny reference)

Sabre, I watched an episode of Sunny (the pilot) at a buddie's place a few weeks ago and really liked it. Considering pilots are often weak / not consistent with how awesome characters can become, I thought this was a good sign.
