So, right now I'm just running through universe mode as Morrison and Swagger (randomly selected 1 per show) and Morrison didn't have a match on the first Raw, while Swagger fought in the main event against Edge..and then Vince showed up and told Swagger he had a second opponent...Finlay. What a letdown. I then proceeded to just say "fuck that" and hit Finlay with a chair to get myself DQed.

If the guy who put that up is who I think it is... you can be rest assured that that was the reason. I think its one of the guys that put up several sick vids of HTCP bumps. I wish I had downloaded those before the E put the squash on them.

Oh god that would be awesome. I hope Sheamus and/or Finlay get traded and the team gets Vince as a manager. Fuck yeah.


One note I was impressed on, I went in and changed some rosters around, to make them fit with the actual show rosters. One of the moves I made was Edge to SD, and when I fought him in the main event, the announcers were talking about how the move to Friday nights would affect him.

Big Dave will gladly wear the Million Dollar Bling and never lose it. He defeated Ted in an Inferno Match at the Tribute to the Troops arena.

The controls take some getting used to and I'm still not entirely sure what I'm doing (I think I use Left Trigger to drag but I already forgot) but it's fun so far. Oh, apparently the Mr. Perfect Mania X Referee ruling of not laying your hands on a manager is in full effect. Maryse kept distracting the ref when I was trying to pin Ted in a Raw match, so I ran over to the apron to kick her off. Instant DQ. The nice thing that I learned there is that unlike previous running finishers (I was R-Truth) which always miss and cost you a finisher, this year you just keep doing it until it hits. It was funny to watch Truth just repeatedly Psycho Crusher around the ring while DiBiase casually sidestepped me.

It's really surreal to do a WCW title match and have a giant "WCW CHAMPIONSHIP" graphic pop-up before the match. RVD made a successful defesne against Jake Roberts.

I was going to unlock everything naturally... then I realized I didn't want to do that.

I'm a bit confused over the previous stories about certain things being store-exclusive content. Did the Fan Axxess package nulify all of that except for Bret? The online activation code with the game gave me Ministry Taker, the fact it was the Canadian Edition from Future Shop gave me Bret, and Fan Axxess gave me everything else I heard was bundled only in certain stores (Orton's extra attire, Tribute to the Troops, etc.).

Yeah the Fan Axxess thing unlocks it all - including Orton's attires and Ministry Taker. Bret was the only true store exclusive. I think the idea behind Ministry Taker & Orton's attires being "exclusive" was just that you'd get a code to specifically unlock them early.

Any word on the submissions for CAW? Is it increased from last years barely there offering? Right now that is my only hold back. And how many CAW slots can officially be confirmed?

Just tinkered with this for a little bit. The online Rumble is laggy as fuck for the PS3. Also, the graphics seemed to have degressed since 2010 but it's not too big of a deal. I'd play more but I'm rockin an epic headache so I'll pass until later this week.

I tried one online game. One on one. It wasn't laggy but as expected my opponent was one of those cheap fucks who just run and grapple or run and clothesline you the entire time.. and reversing never seems to help. This is the main reason why I stay out of online on WWE games, outside of any potential lag.

I noticed the thing about the graphics as well. The textures look good but the actual makeup of the models look dated.. especially the outfits.. they almost look fuzzy at times.

I played Universe mode mostly last night. I like what I saw.. but I am one of those OCD eFed nerds who needs to sit down with the roster and re-draft the brands, figure out who I want to push, etc. before I can really get into it. I did draft CM Punk to RAW and had him win the WWE title at Backlash over Cena, though. I also created "The New Society" with him and Mike Knox and I have to admit they look pretty bad ass if you give them the SES entrance.

I played through Cena and Christian's RtWM last night. Cena's is predictably boring, but Christians reeks of awesomeness. Truth or Consequences is the most random tag team ever.

I don't know....something kind of seems off about all the animations and the general speed of the game; it seems like everything is slowed down too much and doesn't have impact.

I also tried to get into an online Royal Rumble but gave up after people kept quitting out right before connection.

The only diff I'm hearing is the usual number of layers for a CAW. 360 has 64 whereas PS3 only has 32 again. Other than that it's preference. Someone said that the graphics on the 360 were "muddied" and less vibrant, but I really think that's up for debate depending on your TV. Other than that you could always get the PS3 version so that I have one more person to face off against online.

I'll think about it. So how's the CAW in this one? Is it actually better than any of the other ones? And how do you build up CAW points? Better not be by playing the RtWM. I'll kill people for that.

I also like the WWE Universe. It reminds me of that one Smackdown game long ago that I played for 12 seasons. Anyone have anything wild and crazy happen yet?

CAW I'm not too into, yet. They did remove Transparency which is a huge fuckup, IMO. I think they're going to have to patch it back in, though. It's a HUGE drawback to creating really detailed likenesses.

As far as Universe goes, I've had Vince come out and do the, "here's your other opponent" thing to me. But that's about it. I did, however, sim an awesome match between CM Punk & RVD. I just tried a sim match using some slider settings I found on the Fire Pro boards and it was a really competitive match. There was literally no standing around for the AI which is a first from what I remember.

Two more things they messed up, that I have to talk about here. They aren't huge, but they're annoying. The movesets are extremely generic. For some reason they set the up/down and left/right quick grapples for every wrestler to be the same. Ie: CM's left/right are the same, his up/down are the same. So there is extensive editing that needs to happen. The second thing is that they defaulted every wrestler's dual-title entrance to the one that is obviously for Big Show or some other giant wrestler as they walk extremely show and step OVER the top rope. Thankfully there are quite a few options to switch it to, it's just annoying that you have to go through all of the wrestlers to do it.

Here are the slider settings if anyone is interested. They actually make for really good player vs cpu matches as well.

AI Reversal Balancing:
Stand Strike (all the way left and three clicks right)
Stand Grapple (all the way left and one click right)
Ground strike (all the way left and 5 clicks right)
Ground Grapple (all the way left and 2 clicks right)
Finisher/Foreign (all the way left and 5 clicks right)

Damage Balancing
Finisher (all the way left and 5 clicks right)
Weapons (all the way left and 3 clicks right)

Game Balancing
All DEFAULT (middle)

These settings just gave me a pretty awesome single match bloodbath between HBK and HHH. It went over 14 minutes, had top rope moves, very little standing around, 3 pedigrees, 2 AA Spinebusters, 2 Superkicks, a few Struggle submissions, corner grapples, etc. Not perfect with the pacing or ending (HBK won with a non-sig strong grapple), but I was very satisfied with the results. HBK was a bloody mess by the end, and Trips was covered in it.
