Age isn't nearly the factor it was but that's still kind of alarming. Two years and he can be #AllElite

I'm about to turn 37 and I counted 12 people in the Men's Rumble that were younger than me. And one of them was the streamer. 18 were older than me. Guys like LA Knight, Penta, Santos Escobar, and Damien Priest are much older than you think.

It's crazy, but kind of cool that I can still feel young while watching wrestling.

Michelle McCool will be inducted into the WWE HOF. That pool for the women’s spot of the ceremony is getting quite shallow.

IIRC Michael Cole was calling her a future HOFer as early as 2010, so this is actually long overdue.

I'm not a huge fan of his, but that's too easily justified a role for him after his active career ends. I never thought he'd take off like he did, but he wholly absorbs the modern WWE style and works it better than almost any other.

If he starts calling his finish Threat Level Midnight then this level of name change is worth it.

Will be hilarious when after hrs of hype and political curiosity and it’s just Dwayne announcing to the crowd in New Orleans that WM 42 will be in New Orleans and he just might maybe be there for that one.

In addition to Dwayne showing up tonight, a press conference will be hosted tonight after the conclusion of SD at 11 PM ET.

That was painful. Rock going back between heel and face and then going for Cody's "soul"? I guess he's going to try and get Cody to be a corporate heel champion or something.

The press conference was equally baffling.

He did 40 minutes of a Tony Khan parody thanking the nerd media for their great questions and talking about his favorite beignets and how the nation of domination was formed and finishes by burying Hunter by saying he knows when to say yes and to do it how Rock wants.

That crowd in New Orleans was so baffled and worn out by that Rock segment that they barely got up for a cheap pop. I've been watching this full segment since WWE put it up on their YouTube and... look, at least if Vince was still around maybe Rock's appearances would be less rambling and incoherent. It's as if the run sheet in the back always says "GIVE DWAYNE 25 MINUTES" whenever he shows up but that's literally all the direction given.

Like, I get the story they're trying to get going here with Rock trying to make Cody a corporate champion in exchange for selling out but that segment was nearly half an hour from when Rock first starts his entrance!

(goes to watch 1999 Rock promos)

Momentum gonna shift. I'm gonna be eating popcorn when people turn on TKO and Triple H's WWE.

The newness of Vince being gone will finally wear off.

WWE fans are weird though. Brand loyalty over anything else. The fans I know who actually watch week to week are fully aware of everything but just don't care.

I know my brother is like that. I keep glazing up AEW to him and he ignores it and continues to complain how bad WWE is. Might be the only man that hates Michael Cole's commentary more than me though.

I have a friend who is a lapsed fan (followed the indies hardcore and Japan) who hates WWE but thinks AEW is even worse.

AEW can definitely be a lot more dry a product comparatively but like there is nothing WWE has done in years that matches stuff like Toni/Mariah. I say that to a friend of mine, and she writes it off because Toni sucked in WWE. Then we can have a conversation about how I've watched Penta for like ten years and she's shocked he's been around so long. It's just funny how it works.

I kinda get why my brothers made fun of me when I was growing up as a blind WWF guy but called myself a wrestling fan.

I will say, much of the AEW he was exposed to were some of the sillier elements like the Jericho/Orange Cassidy Mimosa mayhem match and the early pre-Brody iteration of the Dark Order.

I said this, like, five or so years ago and it's mostly still true: the thing about AEW for me is that many of the things that make them different from WWE are things that I never liked about wrasslin' in the first place. I do like that I've gotten to see guys like Ospreay and Takeshita put on bangers, but I can take or leave most of the rest of it.
