WWF: Hulkamania era (1984-`1992)

Surprised to see Regis alone. If Kathie Lee was gone I thought Joy normally stepped in.
Kathie Lee was legit pissed at Rick Rude's antics when he was on there so maybe she stepped away for the segment? I'm not sure when he appeared time frame wise.

2 years later when the Bushwackers appeared, Kathie Lee ran away and watched the madness from the top of the set. That was part of the joke though as the Wackers gobbled sardines and played with Regis.

It's still pretty crazy to think they wouldn't put a WWF Title match on a video release back in 1988, but maybe since it wasn't a PPV they could just make it out of sight, out of mind.

The Savage-Dibiase match was on the Macho Madness tape which was released on VHS at the same time as Wrestlefest.
The Hogan-Andre cage match also was on Hulk Hogan: Real American which came out in '89, which I'm guessing was a budget release since it was only an hour long.

I watched the European Rampage 92 upload on Youtube the other day. Fun to watch LOD vs Col Mustafa & DIno Bravo (with black hair). Short match but the Warriors seemed motivated and both heels did rare bumps. HBK-Savage is good, too, and Miss Elizabeth's last WWF tv appearance. And another main event for Bulldog, here vs IRS. Good idea to have Smith headline this and Summerslam that year. Still seems odd to me that there's no Piper here and they just had him toot the bag pipes at the ppv. Also like Summerslam there's no match for Flair here either.

Does Vince give up on Savage if Liz doesn't leave? Because Shawn and Sherri vs Savage and Liz sounds fun.

I don't think he'd have just given up on Savage like he did if Liz was still there, though. Honestly it seems like without Liz being involved he really didn't know how to book Savage if you think about it.

Kamala pointed out to me that Larry Z defended the AWA World title for Herbo Turbo after he started the UWF in Oct 90. That led us to talking about Lou Albano's black balling since Vince wouldn't take him back in order to mess with Herb. I then suggested he give up loud garb he was known for an switch to a Leather daddy look to take Demolition on as charges instead of them bringing Mr Fuji back as their manager.

You're welcome for that mental image.

Only if he was named Demolition Putter or some shit

Tbh Albano and the Bushwhackers makes a ton of sense. Deprived of some Albano/Genius feud as well.

What changed between 1990 and 1994 to bring Albano back and put immediately into a tag title story among other roles?

Business tanking and a renewed interest when the HOF started would be my guess. I will check the WON. (Edit - Nada)

MAYBE Hogan tried to have WCW sign him as part of the Hogan reunion tour?

I thought Mr McMahon already did the big brain thing benching Savage after 1992 because This Business fell off?

I realized from looking up results this AM that they actually did the "managers all try to sign the new talent" angle to which I had to say "Who the hell were the managers?!" Corny wasn't there yet. Hart was with Hulk. Johnny Polo debuts in May. Heenan is a broadcaster. Luna? Sherri? Oscar isn't there quite yet.
Rev Slick actually tries. Fuji too, despite being in charge of Yoko.
So Whippleman got Hughes by default.
Albano also showed up on RAW in 97 to tease signing Miavia. I don't recall that.

That was when they were low-key building a Rock/Atlas feud
