So how is this house speaker shit gonna end?

I'm just waiting for the suggestion by the Trump supporting mouth breather house reps that are creating this chaos....to suggest that Trump himself or someone aligned strongly with him that isn't even an elected official, actually become house speaker. Apparently that is something that can theoretically happen, meaning someone from the outside, not even an actual house rep, can become speaker?!!! The fuck??

Anyway, its hilarious seeing this shit go down.....but I dont get what the end game is here. Is that the goal of those that are holding out on having Mccarthy be the guy, to transition to someone they suggest from the outside? I know there was some votes for Jim Jordan, and a big hell no on that choice.

My wild guess is that Kevin McCarthy at some point gets sick of the humiliation and withdraws and his base and the 20 or so dissenters agree on a compromise candidate for Speaker of the House.

Ironically, Gaetz full out nominated Trump for speaker of the house earlier today. He's been projecting this shit for well over a year (there's tweets in Dec 21 of Gaetz verbalizing this idea), signaling this probably was the intention of this shit show the entire time. How fuckin pathetic!

I've read that the GOP end game is to use the voting for SS and Medicare to turn the AARP and other groups into a endless lobby money source as the AARP fight to save seniors' best interests. I can only hope it is that simple and not a greater kick in the balls for all of us as we age out of working.

Pretty big blows against the GOP...

"In the race for Wisconsin Supreme Court, liberal Janet Protasiewicz defeated conservative Dan Kelly 55 percent to 45 percent, as of 11:15 p.m. Eastern, per the Associated Press. As a result, liberals have taken control of the court for the first time since 2008.

In the race for Chicago mayor, progressive Democrat Brandon Johnson defeated conservative Democrat Paul Vallas 51 percent to 49 percent, as of 11:15 p.m. Eastern. It also means that progressives will lead two of America’s three largest cities, with Los Angeles being the other and New York City being the exception."

The beautiful thing about that is even if he's not *that* short, clarifying it would make him look every bit as silly and foolish as Trump is painting him as.
