The Nets have the most retarded logo in all of sports, in that their name is the Nets, and their logo is a basketball hoop in which there are no nets.

The NBA is the league that features its equipment in team logos the most. That is to say, it has the basketball in the logos more frequently than baseball has a ball or bat, hockey has a puck, etc.

NBA - 21 out of 30 teams

MLB - 13 out of 30 teams

NHL - 8 out of 30 teams

NFL - 5 out of 32 teams

So says Dave Dameshek.

I get 5 NHL teams - Penguins, Sharks, Thrashers, Capitals and Islanders.

Canucks with their stick-in-rink, the lower right hand corner of the A of the Avalanche logo turns into a puck and Blue Jackets used to have a stick so that might be what the 8th is.

I think the Kings logo has 2 sticks going through it.

It doesn't, but Columbus's logo does have a hockey stick in it so thats #8

I kind of like those Bruins sweaters. They're better than what the Flyers are going to wear.

I think the eye of the Hurricanes logo is supposed to be a puck.

Not really sports jerseys, but Pearl Jam has been selling local sports team themed shirts on their current tour, with city name & number on the back in the team's font.

More Phoenix Coyotes. The jersey itself is a little busy, but this is a great logo. Probably the best in sports that was inspired by Native Americans.

I just haven't taken a liking to this jersey. The all-black is so drab and dull. I thought orange was supposed to be the secondary color, but they seem to like using gold, so I'd include more of that. And put the Mighty Ducks logo on the shoulders.

I don't know what the Thrasers' logo is, but I do like the unorthodox style here. It's good to go with the different, unbalanced look with "Atlanta" on only one arm. It'd be nice if more teams delved into stuff like that. A lot of new teams try either to go retro, or be completely new-school, but the avant-garde is always overlooked.

The Thrashers' logo is a sparrow with a hockey stick.

As for the Blackhawks' shoulder logo, I've never liked it. It just confused me as a kid because it looked like the C was being crossed out, and I couldn't tell with what. Why do you cross out your own insignia? Now I know what it is, but it still looks pretty bad. Surprisingly most seem to like it.

People really seem to hate the Thunder's jersey, but I think it's just because of the terrible name and the circumstances of their departure from Seattle.

It's not very dynamic, but I like the clean look. It's a nice blue color, and the font is pleasant. I don't mind the "city" coming on a separate line, either.

Logo's not too bad, either. OKC has a nice ring to it. It's a better 3-letter initialization than that PHX stuff. You're a basketball team, Suns, not an airport.

Anyway, since the Thunder name needs to go, I suggest the Knights. The logo is already a shield, so they wouldn't even have to change it. It would be making a clever statement; they can forgo the stereotypical swords in favor of a knight's defensive equipment, which matches well with the team's emphasis on defense.* Keep the shield, and get a nice suit of armor mascot to scare the kids.

*Oklahoma City may or may not actually be a good defensive team.

The font and primary blue are pleasant, but stacking Oklahoma above City is a glaring flaw to me. The whole color palette is confusing and bad.

Remember Playmakers, that show on ESPN? The Oklahoma City Thunder is the fictitious basketball team that the main characters in ESPN's NBA Playmakers play for. That's what they are to me.

Now this is one of the best jerseys of all time. Excellent colors with a good simple design. The central logo is downplayed, which I like. The moon and trees in the beast is good, but it was just too large on the previous jersey. Now it's more of a centerpiece than something that just screams in your face. It's restrained. Now, instead of "LET'S GO WILD WRAAWWWRR WEREWOLF" it's giving us the option to go wild, whenever we want.

I love the Penguins jersey it copied, as well.

I was saying the Wild copied the Penguins.

OK, looking at this more has just made me angry. Crossing out the C is a fundamental error. The tomahawks should be supporting it, not covering it. Putting them in the back says, "Yeah, well if you try to cross Chicago, you'll have us tomahawks to worry about!" They would be backing up the city, not effing blotting it out. Is there any explanation for them being in front?

My guess is that it would look imbalanced with the tomahawks behind the C. If they were, then you'd hardly see the handles, and you'd just have weird little red nubs poking out. By putting them up front, you get a nice blend of the colors.
