All four Detroit teams have red and/or blue in their uniforms, that's the closest I can think of.

Penguins ruined a good thing by wearing "Vegas Gold" instead of "Pittsburgh Gold." You don't play in Las Vegas. You play in Pittsburgh.

See, they have an official city color scheme. That Pittsburgh coat of arms or whatever is pretty rad too.

Cowboys, Mavs and Rangers use blue and white as their main colors.

The Cowboys' uniform is so hilariously mismatched. The helmet is silver, the star is navy blue, the white jersey has royal blue numbers, the dark jersey is navy blue, the pants with the white jersey are silverish green, and the pants with the dark jersey are grey. And yet if you try to make all the colors match up it looks really wrong.

I don't like it at all. You can't make a big deal about having THE GREATEST LOGO IN SPORTS and go out of your way to plaster it throughout the tri-state area...and then come up with a sweater that kinda doesn't really have the logo on it but sorta in a way but no not really. Also, the numbers are pretty hard to read.

It kinda reminds me of the Wild jersey StarOcean posted, which is too much like a pair of pajamas your grandmother would knit you for Christmas when you were eight.

Edit: But not with the feetie things. I defy anyone to find a better Xmas flick than A Christmas Story.

The Pens/Steelers/Pirates all have a similar color scheme: Black and "Gold."

Are there any other cities with teams that have matching color schemes?

Washington tried this with Capitals/Wizards before they went back to the old Capitals colors.

On the Black hawks, I don't mind their logo, but the current trendy thing to say is that they have the best uniform ever, and that's puzzling. Actually, for all the noise made about them, I find the concept and existence of the original six to be quite overblown. In every best uniform discussion someone will say "OH JUST THROW ANY ORIGINAL SIX TEAM IN THERE."There's a lot of romanticizing about them, I guess because people want to make it seem like they appreciate the "tradition" and "aura" of the old NHL. Screw 'em.

When did baseball hats get so popular? I don't remember seeing so many of them worn during the offseason. I know there are gang-related ones, and those awful multi-color ones as well. There are an awful lot of people wearing these hats to be hip now, and there's no way they're for teams they actually like.

Yes, I understand that wearing baseball hats regardless of fandom is nothing new, but I'm saying it looks like it's at an all-time high now. Before you'd just see the stray Yankee hat here and there, now every other punk kid has got on a Pirates or Blue Jays hat. Even Pirates fans don't wear Pirates hats. And wearing hats that are different from the official team colors is never acceptable, no matter what color your shirt is.

Anyway, I can see that I'm the only real the smart mark who cares about this. Nevermind!

In a related note, I saw two different dudes sporting Washington Natinals hats at the mall last Friday. It made me wonder what that hat stands for because I can't believe there are two Natinal fans in Houston, much less that they'd both be at the same mall at the same time.

I think the San Francisco Giants may be the most ripped off team in pro sports.

- The Mets stole their logo and one of their colors. You can't wear a throwback New York Giants cap without people thinking you're a Mets fan.
- The NY Football Giants stole their name...while the team was still in New York. This apparently was a common practice back in the day, which makes it all the more confusing.
- The Tokyo Giants use the name, as well as the uniform and color scheme.

I really like the Orioles logo. I never would have even heard of this bird if not for the team, and I like the realism. Those old-school cartoonish bird logos are horrific. Get one of the real birds and pay proper tribute to this diminutive, but proud animal. The alternate "O's" hat that's getting popular now is OK, but inferior.

Also, the black/orange combo is one of the best you can use for a color scheme. The Orioles didn't really have a choice, since that's the color of the actual bird, but you can't go wrong with that color. The Giants, Bengals, etc., all look great.

Incidentally, I can't stand blue and orange. Something about that combo evokes a primal rage within me. It helps that teams I don't like like the Broncos and Mets wear them, but even Boise State, which is college so I couldn't care less about them, turns me off because of that color combo.

"Now, daughters to go state college. Smarter students powerless against drunken jockocracy. Baseball hat everywhere!"

Edit: How is everyone but me able to find any picture from any Simpsons scene ever?

Oh, and as for those who think they can walk around with multi-colored hats: you're dumb, the whole lot of ya. If it's a Dodger hat that is colored black, it ceases to be a Dodger hat. The Dodgers wear blue.

These toolsheds will say that they need to match their wardrobe, that the green A's hat would clash with the rest of their clothes. I say nay. The team's colors are sacred. You can't change the colors just to match your ridiculous outfit, that's like changing the American flag so it will match the paint of your house! No! It's unacceptable! Begone with you all!!!!

Oh, and this old Orioles logo is terrible.

Are you kidding? It looks like a minstrel actor wearing blackface. I'm glad the realistic bird is used.

I believe this tirade answers my "Does Marvin post here still?" thought aloud of last week.

Really? Part of me wanted jerseys of Orr and Forsberg in powder blue. I guess there's not quite the same hatred between Philly-Baltimore, but....really?
