So Collision got 816k viewers for the first show....this is so very close to Dynamite's Weds rating as well. Really not much to take from this number other than the 800-900k AEW base right now appears to be loyal to both shows.

This isn't a maturity issue and it's a really weird way to frame it.

There are 500 streaming services. No normal person is paying for all of them. Some companies like WWE or UFC I don't want to financially support but I want to check their shit out occasionally. I'm also not going to drop 70 bucks on a boxing event or whatever because the guys in chat are watching it, but I will grab a stream.
If you say so.

I realize that nobody pays for all of the streaming services: I personally only pay for the Disney bundle, NBA League Pass and WNBA League Pass. But I also don't suffer from FOMO, so I don't really ever find myself in a position where, like, I don't want to pay for a big fight, but I still want to watch it, anyway.

It's not FOMO they just literally don't deserve my money. The UFC pays fighters about 19% of what they bring in and I refuse to give them money because of that. The fighters don't even have healthcare.

If my money was going to the fighters I wanted to watch, then it's a different story.

I wasn't sure they could put Punk on the show to begin with anyway.

Yeah, with Omega and maybe Bucks having a match on the ppv, I never knew how that really was gonna work if they wanted to do a Punk match too. Sooner or later though, this shit will need to be addressed as all hands need to be on deck for ppvs.

I could still see Punk get onto the show via an angle they might do with MJF outright refusing to work Tanahashi. Then the "other" champion Punk takes his place and we get the match we were supposed to get last Forbidden Door with Punk and Tana. This would theoretically build the impending MJF/Punk title match too....guessing we get that match at All Out. And then perhaps Cole gets MJF at All In? In the storyline, doing back to back world title matches for MJF could be the cause and effect from him refusing to have the title match at FD.

Man if Cole gets a high profile singles match at Wembley this company can kill itself.

If Punk gets booked, I don't think it'll be a singles match. Cumfart vs Bullet Club with White interference or some shit.

I respect you not wanting to give the UFC your money. My follow-up question is, but why do you still want to watch the fight, though?

It’s on late enough that nothing is on, I love combat sports and I respect the fighters, plus I can talk about it with the boys and my dad wants to watch all these and won’t pay for the same reasons.

In terms of what? It’s like boycotting Walmart cause they pay their workers shit, I don’t go there. But if a band was playing a show free in the Walmart parking lot I might go

it's something to do, when you're at home and hanging out in chat talking about shit. It really has nothing to do with FOMO. "oh you guys are watching that? sure let me put that on."

Pretty slick way to get Punk and the Elite on the same show by having Kenny, Hangman and the Bucks do a pretape and then “leave the arena because they don’t like Eddie Kingston.”

Well, they're all going to be at the arena on Sunday. So, I don't really get the point of them not appearing tonight unless it was because TK didn't want them getting booed or the Chicago crowd hijacking the show. At least we have our answer on whether or not Punk and The Elite are going to be put on the same PPVs.

Gonna be hilarious when Punk works the opener and we find out later that he left shortly after his match and that the Elite didn’t enter the building until after he was gone.

Any clue who Sting and Darby's partner will be at Forbidden Door? No way it'll be Muta, right? RIGHT?!

That would be great as Muta never really got to have a retirement match in the states. Here's hoping!

The other names that stick out as a possibility is Naito, Takagi, or Hiromu. Kinda shocked they havent added them in a six man against maybe House of Black? Maybe that will still be added last minute on Rampage or Collision as I recall they added a few more matches last minute last year.

Also, FTR and Goto/Yoshi-hashi perhaps in a battle of tag champs, maybe even go ahead and put the NJ Strong tag titles on the line? FTR never snagged those yet.

Anyway, what a fantastic show last night. The matches added to FD is kinda fever dream stuff, but in a good way.

Him and Punk evoking Piper is a good touch to this program.
