Maybe it's the narrative but I thought Fenix was one of those Sabu style "tape it up and keep going" types until he physically couldn't.

I don't know what the real story is but AEW has never seemed like a company that has made guys work injured. Fenix has taken huge amounts of time off hurt. Unless he means they wouldn't give him access to a doctor or something? I have no idea.

When something goes on sale is when you sell most of the tickets so I would say it’s not great.

I'm not able to watch but is Timeless Toni done? Because I might be out if she is.

She was dressed in the old stuff while acting Timeless so pretty sure she’s gonna be schizophrenic or something

She wrestled on Rampage and apparently dropped a couple hints in the match so the gimmick is going to continue in some form. At this point Toni has earned a lot of faith from me so I'm very willing to wait and see where she's going with it.

See I'm concerned still because there was no need to mess with it. If the unique stuff is gone in favor of split personality Attitude Era bullshit that could be crippling, and it has happened before. I love Toni and she will rock whatever it is but this is the best character the company has produced and a counterintuitive direction

I don't see it as counterintuitive. The idea is probably that she's been further shattered by losing the title and is now swinging back and forth. Toni knows the Timeless gimmick is her golden ticket, she isn't going to stop doing it. I appreciate that she's not just coming back doing the same exact thing tbh. If it's done well it expends the time before the gimmick get stale.

Why in the world are they putting Toni’s big return match on Rampage? You could talk me into giving Collision a boost, but is Rampage even going to still be on the air a month from now?

If the reports of ROH getting an actual show soon are true then I think he's perfect for that. I have zero interest in seeing him on AEW programming though.

Honestly a guy like Cardona is a waste of a spot. It's not like an Edge where you'd be a fool to not through an offer out. This is worse if you're trying to make ROH viable, too.

Cardona's fanbase will follow him anywhere so it's really a low risk move unless TK has to pay some ridiculous amount of money.

It's about

The product is less violent, far more sanitized, and some part of how that happened is because they keep bringing in old WWE guys. Like you can point out to me that Cardona bled buckets in some GCW match, I don't give a fuck about that. If you bring in 20 people that worked a certain style for years upon years, and even if all those people claim they hated that style, some element of that style is going to bleed over into everything else.

Then you can throw in that they put on a show and the average age of the performer is getting older and older, then you think about how in WWE all these people failed to draw eyeballs or money, and you see how things got this way.

His peak was 13 years ago too. And AEW could have brought him 4.5 years ago when he was released, or a year ago when he left TNA, but they justifiably did not. Why now? Because he's a GCW guy, and they believe that the GCW-AEW feud is "hot" and this is going to lead to some sort of worked shoot deal. Don't be shocked to see Effy run in on Friday. Also this will afford them the opportunity to have someone cut a promo about how Cardona's wife is more over than him, which will appeal to Tony's love of putting WWE talent over.

Wow, how is it that I'm the one defending Cardona to modern ROH?

Is he anywhere near the level of talent that made ROH into a must-see promotion from 2002 to 2010? Is he even near the level of talents that populated the ROH main event from 2010-2014? Hell no.

Is he one of the most popular talents not currently involved with WWE, AEW, or NJPW? Is he a veteran that could share lnowledge on how to get yourself over regardless of your push? Hell yes.
