There were some okay things in Mulaney but a lot was stuff stretched out from one of his stand-up specials I've seen, which is fine, probably not a ton have seen it. The biggest issue was most of the acting was awful. Outside of Nasim and Martin Short, most of the actors came across like actors in a high school play.

Have not watched Mulaney, but, judging from the commercials, Mulaney himself delivers all his lines like he's reciting dialogue he took a lot of trouble to memorize but feels no obligation to actually, you know, act. He sounds completely artificial. Jerry Seinfeld was not a great actor, but he always felt comfortable and natural when interacting with others on his show.

FX cancelled "The Bridge". On one hand, the ratings were really bad. On the other hand, it was a great show and I really wish more people had watched it.

Probably because "This show is horrible and exploitative" is not as bad as "The mom is now dating a child rapist who assaulted a relative of hers-oh, and she has a little girl herself"

I always thought a child abuse controversy would kill that show, but not like this.

The little girl that guy molested was her now 20 year old daughter. The daughter, who now has a child of her own, said that as long as the guy is in her mother's life, she will not have any contact with her mother. Good for her.

Anyway, Manhattan Love Story is the first show to be cancelled this season.

The Sunday move has really hurt it, and they've already cut this season's episode count down to 18 instead of 22.

TVByTheNumbers would say something about that being a trend for long-running CBS dramas getting the axe at season's end.

Utopia finally got the chop today. Good. I watched the first couple of weeks, and was amazed that they managed to put together a group of 15 people NONE OF WHOM were the slightest bit even remotely likeable.

Fox Executive: "I know, let's have a nationwide search to find 15 of the most obnoxious, stupid, and generally vapid people we can find. Then, let's stick them in a compound in Northern California, and film everything they do. Win money? No, this isn't a competition or a game show. Point to the show? No, we don't have one. Trust me, people will LOVE to see a bunch of morons sitting around in their underwear, arguing with each other. We'll show it two nights a week! Trust me, this is the best idea I've had since I cancelled Firefly!"

Selfie got the axe. Naming it "Selfie" likely didn't do the series any favors in the first place.

Martin Short has signed on to a broadway play starting in January. Mulaney getting the axe is seemingly inevitable

Not a cancellation, but the next season of "Hell on Wheels" will be its last.

The Millers is getting the axe. Never cared to watch it, but I like Will Arnett, JB Smoove, and Margo Martindale.

What makes this interesting is that TVByTheNumbers has been predicting renewal since before the season. Given their track record on predictions, this would be a rare giant miss.
