Marlon at least has his really good performance in Requiem For A Dream. Shawn has ?

Yeah, Marlon is easily the more entertaining of the two and has proved he can be decent in non-comedic roles such as the aforementioned Requiem. Shawn is by far the hackier one.

I agree about the performance. But The movie is pushing 20 years old now. That can’t keep being a go to saying the guy has done good work.

Im saying there isn’t a good brother among the two.

Aren't there, like, four of them, though?

Shawn and Marlon get put together because they’re so close in age and have worked tougher a bit. I like Damon and Keenan Ivory just fine.

I defended Marlon for Requiem, but I'd probably put Kim over either him or Shawn. She was a workhorse on In Living Color.

Wayans family Power Rankings for me:

Keenen Ivory (He basically was responsible for creating all the best Wayans material and doesn't have the amount of terrible projects attached to him as Damon, Shawn, or Marlon.)
Damon
Kim
Marlon
Shawn

I'm not defending their work but FWIW when Shawn and Marlon were working together it was Shawn who was the workhorse behind the scenes writing and coming up with ideas while Marlon just sorta followed along. Pretty sure the original Scary Movie was his (Shawn's) idea

(dear god I remember this from the E! True Hollywood story on ILC)

That's not really a plus for Shawn. I remember loving that movie when it came out, but all the homophobia really dates it. The only chuckles come from Anna Faris' physical comedy.

I was perfectly fine with the first scary movie. It wasn’t good. But totally ok. What came after was pathetic.

Daniel Wu and his Into The Badlands team are spectacular, they produced this show well and technically know everything and got the most out of their budget. If no one else picks up Into The Badlands then my dream scenario is he signs up with Disney/Marvel to play Shang Chi, he gets to keep his Into The Badlands choreography team, and they get a real budget to work with.

It made sense when following how the ratings were going. All that overhead for costumes, sets, stunts, etc. and it fell behind shows like Better Call Saul and Preacher which are mainly just actors hanging around the midwest and don't cost that much in comparison. It sucks though because I genuinely wanted a real kung fu action show to make it.

Netflix officially finished killing their Marvel Universe canceling The Punisher. And they’ve announced that the next season of Jessica Jones will be the last.

I just got around to season 3 of Daredevil recently and it was so damn good. Hope (some) of these shows get new life at Disney.

In the last couple of weeks, Netflix has cancelled Travelers after three seasons which was (in my opinion) a really clever and well written Science Fiction show, and then Starz followed up by cancelling Counterpart (starring J.K. Simmons in two roles) after two seasons, which was one of the best shows I've watched in years. Two of my very favorite shows axed in as many weeks. There is apparently a very slight chance that Counterpart might get rescued, but I'm not holding my breath. At least in both cases, the show-runners seemed to see it coming and wrapped the shows up with fairly conclusive season finales, especially in the case of Travelers.

I think I read that the Crisis CW event next year would lead to the end of two shows. At the time it wa speculated Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow and that some of the characters that don’t get killed off will get shifted onto remaining shows. So wondering since there are rumors of some of Team Flash leaving if they shift some of the supporting Arrow players over.

I mean, we've already seen Lyla make several appearances on The Flash. Give John a lantern ring, and bring him over, too.

No big loss. It never felt like a show built to last very long anyway. Season one was ok. Think I’ve only watched the first episode of season two with the rest piling up on my dvr.

I like it well enough, but I’m not too upset that it’s finished. I thought I saw somewhere that the 3rd was going to be the last season, but maybe I just imagined that.

Haven't watched the second season. The beginning of season one seemed like it was trying to hard to be Shameless before coming into its own by the end.

I never thought it would come to an end but after Season 15 this show is wrapping up.

I recorded both of those and they both felt like chore watching very early on. No major loss.
