The CEO of Gearbox is doing a 2 hour Q&A on Kotaku right now. Here's the highlight I've pulled so far.

What's the current release plan for the DLC? Will it all be substantial and game changing (like Knoxx) or a bit washy like Underdome?

The stuff we're planning and working on for the Campaign DLC Season Pass is big DLC stuff - more like Knoxx. We're extremely far along with the first campaign DLC. The second DLC is also in amazing shape. The third DLC is a little farther out and the fourth DLC is just in the pre-concept stages. We will have other, non-season pass related DLC. The additional character (Mechromancer) is one kind of example. The Borderlands 2 team is fired up at the moment. Customer love for the game is driving us wild - making us want to do more and more stuff. So, expect that there will be even more beyond the big Campaign DLC in the Season pass and the add'l character. We'll announce more stuff as soon as we are able to be confident in the commitment of the details we share.

Goes on until 3.

Got my question answered, ha. Good info to know, though.

Is the DLC that was included with the Premiere Club separate from the 4 DLCs that will a part of the season pass? Would hate to double pay.

Totally separate.

Moar infos

-Gearbox is in talks about putting Borderlands 2 on the Vita.
-The first story content-heavy DLC will have details revealed very soon.
-One DLC planned for the near future might have something to do with Pitchford's desire to "ride on one of those sand skiffs from Return of the Jedi."
-Borderlands 2 could see more additional playable classes like the Mechromancer. Pitchford's words: "We created the ability in Borderlands 2 to add additional characters because we want to use that ability. The Mechromancer is the first one. I hope to do more. The success of the Mechromancer will help to define this."
-There are plans to make a Mac port.
-There's going to be a Claptrap game for the Wii U that combines America's Next Top Model, Just Dance 3, JAWS and Attack of the C.H.U.D. Ok, not really. That one was a joke. Or was it?...It was.
-Looks like there might be more skins, heads, and possibly other character customization in future DLC.
-T.K. Baha will make some sort of return outside his small appearance in the sequel.

Fired up #2 for the first time, and two friends were playing. They immediately pulled me into their game, wherein they were level 11 and 12, and I had no idea what was happening except that I'd been given a soldier bro with a turret. 20 minutes later, I was hooked. And now I have some sweet higher level guns for when I go back and start the campaign proper!

The drop-in/drop-out MP is really cool. The unbalanced leveling helps a lot, too; after about two hours, I was already level 9, and my friends had only gained 1 level apiece. The commando seems to be a pretty good fit for teamplay and solo, but I might roll a sniper, too.

Commando is all my co-op squad is missing.

The more you play the game, the better it gets. There's some great Easter eggs. Obvious ones...
LOVED the Ninja Turtle quest
. Obscure ones...caught an Arrested Development one (referencing "there's always money in the banana stand), Dark Souls... just so great.

Just reached a point where 20 new side quests became available... My joy level was riding high at that moment.

Boy, co-op with slightly higher level players seriously sets you up good. I've been playing some solo missions, and then I did co-op with friends for a couple hours tonight and ended up with weapons that are easily 4-5 times as damaging as what I had previously. 3 backup SDUs should be enough to sate my "gotta catch em all" approach to loot-grabbing. My favorite weapon is a 15-round sniper rifle that fires in 3-shot bursts, has almost no recoil, and sets guys on fire like whoa.

I've barely gone past getting to Sanctuary in the story, but have done some big later-in-the-game side missions in co-op. No really idea of the context, but the contrast between garden-variety bullymongs and huge varkids and crystallids is pretty major.

I got the Xbox version a few days ago. Been playing single player. It's... more Borderlands. I guess I liked the original enough to play through it once, but I certainly wouldn't say I loved it. Would have liked to get the PC version—as it's apparently clearly superior, and I got a new computer recently—but physical copies all tie in to Steamworks, and I don't plan on keeping the game, so, yeah.

I just finished "Best Minion Ever". I made my way to
Captain Flynt
once, and he kept killing me, so I saved and quit. Evidently, this does not put you anywhere near where you ended when you continue later; I was back in town (Liar's Berg) with what's-his-moustache.
Claptrap
, however, was still in the boss area, and every so often, I'd have a nice audible robotic wailing come through the speakers as though the little shit were standing right beside me. I even went off into another area to do a side mission and just screw around a while, and I'd still get the ear assault sometimes.

When I made my way all the way back to the boss area, I finally killed
Captain Flynt
. He was standing next to an open ledge, and I saw a bunch of loot spill over to who-knows-where. D:

I just remembered about the Breaking Bad easter egg in the first game. I wonder if they've done any more for the second go-around?

The Gunzerker has a head that makes him look like Walter called the "Breaking Bald".

Also, more SHIFT codes for keys go up in an hour and a half (6 Central) and at 11 Central.

The only thing I don't like about this game: it has a really poor system of managing stuff you do out of sequence. Even though I've been picking "No" when given the option to skip past missions I've already completed in multiplayer, it's pushing me past them, which is very confusing. I jumped in with some friends for about 20 minutes of one of the big story missions the other night, but now that I've gotten to that point in the game, I was skipped past it once I loaded up my save game. Figure I missed 1-2 hours of the game.

Well, I now have 7 golden keys. I figure I'll be hitting level 50 in the next few days, and I'll use 3 or 4 of them then to upgrade my stuff, hopefully get a good assault rifle since that's the only weapon class that's seems to be under leveled. I'll save the rest for when the level cap gets raised with the DLC. Then finish it up just in time to start up again with Gaige and see how she is.

Achievements and trophies added in yesterday's patch for the PC and PS3 versions of Borderlands 2 hint at a new piece of downloadable content called "Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate's Booty."

Gamers on NeoGAF and other big message boards are reporting the details. Here are the three trophies, as posted on both GAF and PS3Trophies, among others:

Treasure Hunter - Completed the mission "X Marks the Spot"
Gadabout - Discovered all named locations in Oasis and the surrounding Pirate's Booty areas.
Completionist - Complete all Pirate's Booty side missions.

Folks posting on the Gearbox forums have also discovered some details via files in the PC version:

- Each class gets a new head.
- New rarity level? (Level 6, "Seraph")
- New items/weapons. (such as the Blood Relic, Anshin Evolution Shield, Scarlet's Greed, 12 Pounder, Little Evie, Stinkpot, and more!)
- Lots of bosses and multiple raids (3)! (such as Scarlett, the Leviathan, Hyperius the Invincible, and Master Gee the Invincible)
- Covering someone in condiments!

Leaked details about the first DLC. Three raid bosses! Yes!!
