Concerts coming to your area: Good and Bad

Rage Against the Machine added an additional 2 dates in NY bringing it to 5 dates total. That level of demand in the Tri-State area is astounding but well deserved. I knew there would be great interest but not at this level. Still, this is their first actual tour in 20 years.

Santana is going on tour with Earth, Wind & Fire. This is what the last five years of alternating between listening to classic rock and listening to the smooth jazz/soft R&B station has all built up to, folks.

Kraftwerk is coming to Memphis this summer, but I don't know for sure I'll be here, so I can't buy tickets yet. :-[

Really want to see Dance Gavin Dance in April but I don’t think I can talk my brother into going.

And you wanted to go to a concert this year? LMAO.

Alanis Morisette is doing an acoustic show in NYC performing "Jagged Little Pill" (the Broadway play based on the album just opened) in its entirety. I was intrigued but saw tickets went on sale at 10 AM and were sold out by 10:03. Places like Stubhub are selling them for $2K a pop. People are all over my Facebook feed bitching and complaining. Just thought that was funny.

Never fear because Alanis is coming here next summer to commemorate 25 years of "Jagged Little Pill". Garbage is opening!

So I actually bought tickets to this months ago but just got an e-mail that the show is rescheduled for summer 2021. I have no freaking clue how my life will be a year from now so I may take a full refund.

Wow I feel like this is the one COVID prediction that has held steady (just like the death grip Sir Elton has on Fauci)!

I saw him open for GnR in 2011 and he did most of the major songs from the debut. If he does a Slave to the Grind tour in two years I'll go.

EDIT: I looked it up and I see he's also performing this ham jam that was recorded for but left off the debut. I think this is the first time he's ever sang this live.

Still going @BUTT ?

This is coming to Middletown in July. I would absolutely go to see Living Colour (though I could have seen them play a small theater in 2014 and missed it - and I still regret it) but I don't care much about the other bands. I never liked Everclear at all but I could just leave before their set.

Living Colour really sticks out like a sore thumb on a '90s/'00s nostalgia tour. That being said, 1. I'm not really sure if they wouldn't stand out much less on a '80s nostalgia tour. 2. I would totally see this tour if it came to New England. I actually really like some of Everclear and Hoobastank's singles.

I technically saw Wheatus live. They played Nate Webb to the ring at Joey Janela's Lost in New York.

Andrew W.K. at the Bowery in NYC September 23rd. Not sure if I’m ready to be packed into a small space like that again, vaxxed or not.

Yup, music is coming back this Fall! I've seen Andrew multiple times so not sure I'll go but looking forward to seeing what else is announced.

Just announced Alice Cooper & Ace Frehley are playing whatever the heck they're calling Harbor Lights in Boston now in September. And I think that's a damn, damn good show for me to return to going to big concerts* for.

(I did buy tickets for my girlfriend and I to go see a French jazz show at a small club on Bastille Day but Idk if that's really a concert and it'll rock considerably less than Alice & Spaceman)

GNR tour officially on for Metlife August 5 but the Pumpkins are out as openers, replaced by Wolfgang Van Halen . My memories of being bored to death by Lenny Kravitz in 2016 are looking real good by comparison.

Something even more exciting than the 2nd best member of ICP and 3rd best member of Bone Thugs N Harmony headlining in Manchester, NH...my former "home club" is bringing in a The Who tribute fronted by Gary Cherone in September. Where you at, @The Valeyard ?

I would be thrown out of that show after four drinks. That's the kind of thing someone would get me tickets for as a gift, too. I don't mind tribute bands a lot of the time but Cherone can fuck off. Dude's whole career has been a cover band.

Daltrey is actually coming to the casino near by and I'm thinking about it. Small enough crowd, might be a good show. I guess. Since everyone I want to see is dead, dying, or out of my price range I might as well consider someone I've seen before.
