The state’s new cases make New York the coronavirus epicenter of the world, surpassing China’s Hubei province which reported 67,801 confirmed cases since the virus emerged there in December.

Cuomo said 10,929 people have been hospitalized with the coronavirus, including 2,710 ICU patients. Almost 400 of those people were hospitalized last night, he said.

I'm disconcerted by number of seemingly smart compassionate liberals I know that live in NYC that are fleeing for their home states. I honestly can't say I wouldn't do the same thing if I was stuck in NYC but it is really unreasonable and doesn't help anyone but yourself.

Bill Gates has mentioned long after this is gone for us it will be an epidemic in poor countries. We're talking years and years. Even after there is a fully functioning vaccine.

Sadly, due to the economic recession (possibly even depression), I don't think there will be an appetite for the US to spend billions helping out those nations.
