I work for the state so I am pretty lucky in the sense that I have a lot of leave and could potentially work from home on an extended basis, if needed. The shitty part is I have to travel a lot around the state in April so hopefully we will stave it off (no reported cases yet in my state) until I get done with that. We also have a bunch of idiots who show up to work hacking and coughing all day. I never thought I'd be the person who would do this but I said fuck it and bought a shit ton of water and some non-perishable food items, as well as toilet paper. The food is garbage (Chef Boyardee, Ramen, etc.) so the price wasn't too bad. Worst-case scenario, I will be eating Campbell's chunky soup for a few weeks if this blows over.
Funny part is nobody I know has even mentioned it but they all live in this "perfect," post-college middle-class bubble where they think nothing bad will ever happen to them or their kids because we live in a generation where terms like "war" or "famine" or "pandemic" are foreign to us because this is America by God
