Is it sad that I own but never, ever beat this game. Totally the curse of the "wanting to do it all", as honestly there's just too many classes and abilities.

At least in Mass Effect you just have to worry about Paragon and Renegade. In this sometimes I think it'd be cool to cast magic, other times it'd be cool to be a tank, other times I try to be DPS...And every time you start fresh you have to play through that damned introduction. Very, very frustrating...

Honestly, you only have to go through the entire game once. The only thing that changes depending on the race/class thing is the intro/origin story (and some minor dialogue wording later on).

I was feeling this initially, but the game alleviates this alot by letting you take control of any squad member. At this point (maybe a third of the way done? I've only finished Broken Circle and what seems to be a major chunk of the Redcliffe quest), I really just see my character as another specialist on the team since it's really all about the party.

Anyone who plays Witch Hunt, please post spoilers. I won't get the chance to play it and I want to know what goes down.

Yeah, Witch Hunt is pretty disapointing. Not nearly as good as it should have been.

Well shit that's disappointing. I haven't had internet access at home for the past day (weather knocked out my phone line) so I haven't been able to download this or the Shadow Broker DLC for ME2. Does it at least definitively wrap up the story?

I only played it for about 5 minutes last night as the PSN was updated retardedly late for some reason or another (or no reason at all knowing PSN). For some reason my imported Warden started with two weapons he didn't have in the save file I imported him from, and definitely wasn't holding DLC weapons in that save, either. UGH.

Depending on the ending you choose with Morrigan

You can go into the gate with her to raise the god child whom will probably be in DA: 3.

Kind of a cop out tbh, it asks more questions than were needed and although DA:2 sounds great on paper, im not feeling the main character from what ive read.

Nice!

I've already pre-ordered via GameStop. If you pre-order with them before January 11th, you get upgraded to the signature/collectors edition for free. :D

Can't believe this comes out in March!

I like the game footage, but I'll agree with what was said earlier. The male version of Hawke isn't all that impressive. He just screams commoner. Hopefully I'll be proven wrong, and he'll be total badass, but yeah.

Oh and the trailer with him using fighting skills and magic skills is the trailer guys just hyping up the game. From what I understand, you won't be able to do that. T_T Which makes me a sad gamer, because I wanna be the blood mage, staff/sword slashing bastard of righteousness.

Is there suppose to be a part 2 for Witch Hunt?

I walked through the gate with Morrigan and then that was it. One hell of a cliffhanger.

Nope. That's it. Maybe we'll get some codex-style info in the 2nd game come March.

Picked up the Ultimate Collection for a cool $35 (and Mass Effect 2 for $1!) on Black Friday. I can't say too much. So far it seems to be not as good as Neverwinter Nights, but still better than anything else.

I named the dog Barkspawn.

(fake edit) I wasn't the first to come up with it. I should have have gone with Greyhound Warden.

If you pre-order by Tuesday you get automatically upgraded to the Signature Edition, which comes with a few weapons, spells, some skills, a treasure chest...and just announced a full DLC pack that includes a playable character (similar to Shale in 1)... that pushed me over the top.

It comes out March 8th, which has really snuck up on me.

That deal pushed me into pre-ordering as well. I was just gonna get it on the release, but the upgrade/extras were too good to pass up! DA is one of my favourite series going today and I can't wait for this one!

Man, Bioware really wants people to preorder DAO2. Now if you preorder before March 8 you get access to a sword that levels up with you and a shield with rune slots and an exp boost. Plus you'll get what I'm assuming is DLC that leads to a marketplace (The Black Emporium) that sells some of the best equipment in the game (and it'll change eq as you level up, so it'll always be worhtwhile), a "magic" mirror that will allow you to change your appearance, and a Mabari war hound although I think the hound isn't really a selectable party member as much as he is a "summons" you can make in battle, the desc. is a bit hazy. On top of the automatic upgrade to the Signature Edition with Sebastian Vael (the add-on character) and the magic staff and magic belt you can get for signing up for the newsletter, looks like a lot of people will get a nice headstart at the beginning.

They're also going crossover again with this one. Much like last year's Mass Effect 2 armor, copies of Dead Space 2 will come with a download code to get the Sir Isaac of Clarke armor. Full set of armor, and has two rune spots. Taking a look at it, it sounds like a decent thief armor, because it requires a fairly high dexterity score.

While replaying Dragon Age: Origins, I met Superman. All is forgiven, Bioware.

It's an "Easter Egg", see spoiler.

During a pseudo random encounter, The Crater, an old human couple and a smoldering crater can be seen. The male human says, "It's a boy, Marta! Ten fingers, ten toes! The maker's answered our prayers!" This is obviously a reference to Superman. The ore recovered from the meteor crater can be crafted into Starfang with the Warden's Keep DLC installed and completed.

Oooh yeah, forgot all about that. Starfang is also a great sword - I usually opt for the one-handed version of it. :)

Oh man.. so just thinking how this game is a month away from release. I log into GameStop.ca just to make sure my pre-order is all up to snuff and that there are no delays with the release date. What do I find? Not only are all of my past orders gone from my order history, but it shows no open orders - ie: no DA2 Signature Edition on pre-order. Fuckers. Once again Gamestop screws me over. They haven't responded to my emails yet.. but I was able to find a local shop that had ordered a bunch of copies of the Signature Edition back before Jan 11th and paid for a pre-order with them today. Really lucked out with that because no major retailer is taking orders for the Signature Edition anymore, only the regular edition.

I guess I've finally learned that using Gamestop.ca never works out (for me, at least).
