Finished the expansion.. unintentionally. I think I racked about 16.5 hours.. and it would've been more with the side quests, but I didn't realize that I'd saved myself into a corner and was pretty much only allowed to do the final quest. Either way, I'll go through it again, I'm sure, with a new character instead of an imported one.

I liked it in the end, though. I really hope they push out some DLC for this between now and Feb 2011.

BTW for everyone who's considering getting the expansion: before you import your character replace everything that's DLC (Blood Armor, Starfang, any of the jewelry). It won't carry over. I found that out the hard way when I get in to a fight coming out of the opening cinematic and my warrior pulled out a bow because he didn't have a sword.

Heh, me too. I imported my Rogue who was equipped with the Blood Armor & Starfang.. and he appears in the opening cutscene in his underwear carrying a crossbow, lol.

Anybody have any idea how to get your character uploaded to the Social.Bioware website? I registered like a week ago, have since completed the game, and still on the website, nothing. When I go to Dragon Age under my games it just says "Profile not found, player does not have any Dragon Age data uploaded"

I see no other way to upload characters, which sucks because every loading screen seems to be them telling me that I can post my character on the website.

In a pretty major glitch that is also awesome for me, I was able to port in my dead character. This makes me pleased but it's also a little dumb. Game is smart enough to remember I made Alistair king but not smart enough to remember he eulogized me at my funeral? Eh, whatever.

Anders made a great entrance.

My character was naked except for his axe. I was not impressed.

Expansion:

Pros: Awesome missions, really fun, went by super fast

Cons: Very short... finished in about 10 hours and I did all the side missions just about. Also pretty much invincible. My warden didn't die a single time and maybe Anders died more then 3-4 times. The mother was pretty easy for an end boss.

Definitely not worth $40. Got $22 for it on glyde this morning so I'm pretty happy about it being a net $18 investment... it was easily worth that.

You finished it in 10 hours? Did you do all of the side quests?

Going over the list on the Dragon Age wiki it would appear that I did about 70% of them.

I do agree that the main campaign was way too short, though. I didn't even get to create any of Wade's special weapons before the the final quest just automatically started when I entered Vigil's Keep. Was kinda annoyed with that.

Darkspawn Chronicles DLC released last night. I finished it within 30 minutes.. it's basically the final battle (sans the inside of Fort Drakon) but from the Darkspawn perspective. It was only $4 and it gives you a new weapon that also works in Awakenings. Gotta say, though, playing as a Shriek was really fun. I kinda wish they'd make an entire game from this perspective. ;)

Did you get to murder Alistair? Did the other party members from the first game show up?

Yeah..
Oghren, Sten, Wynne and Zevran show up before the final battle. Then the final party you have to protect the Archdemon from is made up of Alistair, Morrigan, Leliana and Dog - named "Barkspawn". Killing Alistair is the main goal of the final quest.

A lot of other storyline characters show up that you get to slaughter as well such as Arl Howe, Bann Teagan, the Circle Templars & Mages, Alistair's sister, and tons of other ones. You also get to loot Riordan's corpse after he falls off of the Archdemon.

LOL. All that in 30 mins? I already sold the game so I won't get to experience that but it sounds like fun.

Roughly. It seemed like 30 minutes but might have been more like 45 or so. You're Darkspawn are all level 12 but it seems that every enemy you face is at least on par with you.. even the Elite bosses.. and die fairly easily.

Warrior is probably the easiest class to play, so I would go with that. Race is up to you. The only real difference is in the story, so just pick what you think you would like to play.

Rogue is good too as it allows you access to locked treasure boxes and there are a few you may come across before getting another rogue in your party.

This has now been fixed in a recent patch (On the PC anyway, dunno about consoles)

It's wonky on consoles. My warrior had three DLC swords on him (2 equipped and one in inventory) before I started a second Awakening campaign a few weeks ago - Maric's Blade and Starfang were equipped and Blightblood was in his inventory. Only Maric's Blade and Blightblood carried over.

This game's super-good (no shocker, given the pedigree and all the acclaim). The only thing I don't like is that it's occasionally hard to just play the game without secnd-guessing yourself. There are so many options and clearly a ton branching paths and variables in every town/encounter. A micro-manager's nightmare, since you can't actually do/win it all.

I just pick a choice and don't worry about it and have to story progress naturally. My first playthrough (as a Dwarf Commoner) I had no idea what the outcome of my choices would be so I just went with what seemed like a good idea at the time. Naturally I ended up being a completely evil bastard.

I've had the game for a few months (Xbox 360 version) and I just beat it tonight. Game got fucked up by my old Xbox 360 and wouldn't play it but since Microsoft sent me a replacement after the old one Red Ringed itself, Dragon Age was able to run on the replacement console.

So I loved the game. One of the very few RPGs that I've ever really wanted to put down. I just don't like that I couldn't finish the sidequests that I still had open/active after I beat the game. I mean the game lets you wonder around the map after you defeat the archdemon, so why not just let me continue doing the sidequests that had nothing to do with the main game? I feel like I lost a few hours of extra gameplay I could have had.

I downloaded the Warden's keep mission and the Return to Ostagar mission and while fun, I felt were way to short but they were also cheap so I guess I shouldn't complain.

I'll probably get the Awakenings DLC in a week or two. I'm looking forward to it.

Just got the new game informer:

-The main character talks like in mass effect
-gameplay will be faster, no waiting after pressing a button (in console version)
-One set main character, you can't choose race/class
-takes place over 10 years
-decisions more to do with the land and grand scope of things than your character (you see results of your decisions in the game, rather than just in a short epilogue)
-Morrigan's story "Isn't over"

Graphics look way better too

I kind of like that there's one main character. I liked setting up a custom character, but it kind of bugged me that they never spoke aside from taunts in battle.
