I just started game #2 with my new character Steve the Mage. I figured Steve was a nice proper mage name.

This will probably be the character I import into Awakenings. I'm thinking my original character won't be available since
I went out on my shield like a true fuckin' hero and was given a proper funeral by King Alistair
If I don't like playing as a mage then I might just roll with the Orlesian Warden option.

Didn't get the Traveler achievement first time through which is pissing me off because I'm pretty sure I went everywhere. I don't know.

Besides the DLC, i thought i went everywhere also. There must be a new area unlocked depending on choices made.

Roll on March, Ive near finished Darksiders and Mass Effect 2, so i can get Archane Warrioring for my second playthough. And Morigan will be fucked. Oh yes, she will be fucked.

I kind of regret going with a Rogue on my first try with this game. He doesn't add as much to the battle as I though he would and is constantly getting himself killed.

Here is some info on the expansion:

THE CHILDREN
When the Blight pushed the darkspawn to the surface, human expeditions were able to venture deep underground for the first time in centuries, meeting very little resistance apart from stragglers. Then people started disappearing. Men would make camp and wake to find one of their number missing. Scouts left on missions, never to return. Search parties found no trace of the lost men, not even their bones. Some saw movements in the darkness, a shifting of shadows that torchlight would reveal as nothing. When a single warrio survived from one squad, he spoke of nothing comprehensible except grinning worm monsters that devoured his companions. The expeditions made haste back to the city.

We have added 4 new screenshots of Vigil's Keep, the base for Grey Wardens in Amaranthine. You can see all 4 screenshots here: Vigil's Keep
VIGIL'S KEEP
Amaranthine was the first of the Fereldan arlings to fall to the Orlesian occupation. As the port city burned, its ruling family, the Howes, fled to the countryside to wage a guerrilla war against the invaders that lasted for generations. No matter how enormous of a bounty the Orlesians promised, they could not rid themselves of the wily Howes and their ever-growing number of sympathizers.
The Howes chose the ancient fortress of Vigil's Keep as their primary base of operations, hiding the entire rebellion within the vast complex of storage rooms and caves beneath “The Vigil” -- right underneath the noses of their oppressors. When the Orlesians were finally ousted, it was at Vigil's Keep that the flag of Amaranthine was first raised again, amidst cheers of victory. Vigil's Keep became the new home of the Howes.
But after years of faithful service to the kingdom, Arl Rendon Howe's ambition brought about his death and his family's ruin. Now Vigil's Keep and the arling of Amaranthine belong to the Grey Wardens.
The walls of the Vigil have been manned since the time of the Avvar barbarians. The griffon banner is only the most recent in a long chain. How long will the Wardens' colors fly?

Fuck, I can't believe I finished this game last night. The Archdemon battle wasn't too bad, it was just getting to it that was a bit of a bitch. I made a few saves on the way to the end so I'm going to load them up and do some thins differently to get the different endings.

You're probably better off just making a new character. The second playthrough is going much faster for me than the first, I skip almost all of the unnecessary dialogue. You might want to try playing a different type of character.

I hope you can port all the characters in from a saved game without the main character. I'd like to bring in all my leveled up characters from my dead hero's quest. Finished my 2nd playthrough as the mage and I think I'm just about done with that. I prefer the Warrior.

I'm about 1/3 through with the mage. After thaÞ I just need to finish with a warrior. Rogue actually turned out to be a fun character to use.

I should really get back into this one. I kind of quit when ME2 came out.

The memory leak issues really got to me, and the difficulty did not help.

It's pretty fun to play out though, and Cailin's armor is a pretty decent stopgap set (as are the weapon/shield combo) until you can carry massive plate or the Blood Dragon Armor if you have it.

The armor is mainly what I want. But I am also a completist when it comes to games like this. :p

March 11th release on PS3 according to a Kotaku posting this morning. So you'll have 5 days to finish it before the expansion comes out.

I'm a bit behind on this game. Just downloaded Warden's Keep and have to play through it now. I tried beating Flemeth once, got destroyed, and said "Screw this," and just took the easy route with her. Funny that Morrigan didn't really ask how I got the book exactly.

Eh, Morrigan knows what's the story with Flemeth. Actually just beat Flemeth last night. With my previous character I waited until near the end and beat her with level 19s, but this time I actually beat her with a party full of 15s. Me in Blood Dragon, Shale with a Flawless Fire Crystal defense, and Sten with some heavy fire gear and the Yusaris sword wailed on her while Wynne healed. Actually took her out with no deaths, I was surprised. Still going to wait a bit before trying the other one though. Maybe just before the end game.

I bought this when it came out for the 360. I got up to the final bit where you have "reserve armies" to call for help, and actually quit the game. I then sold it. Needed money at the time and I'd grown frustrated as all hell with it. What turned the game from "Hard but fun on the 360" to "FUCK THIS GAME" for me, was the floor puzzle on the 360. Floor Puzzles in general always suck, but with the 360 controller, I spent literally about an hour on it the first time trying to get Shale, that I became so frustrated I finally said fuck it, reloaded the game, and then murdered the demon dead. From then on, I really felt like I was getting a halfhearted port of a much superior PC game. I also had run into the Leilana bug that would not allow the romance to progress after using gifts to push her feelings too high too fast. This was apparently fixed on the PC nearly immediately. Not on the consoles. I also kind of agree with Spoony's review of the game, in that around 40 hours in I got kind of bored. It started feeling samey after awhile.

So, with my new PC I have, I decided to re buy Origins for the PC. Got it really cheap (about 24 bucks with shipping) on Ebay with working DLC codes (or so the man claimed), and I should be getting it tomorrow or thereabouts.

I'm not even sure what the point of the Expansion coming out is, or what it adds. I read the description on Steam but that was about it...

It's pretty much a whole new game. 30 hours gameplay, 5 new characters, etc.

I don't remember a floor puzzle?

The floor puzzle is in the Shale DLC. You have to solve it in order to get the correct phrase to reactivate the golem.

Hahaha... well I obviously did it but I'm still not remembering it. Oh well.

EDIT: Apparently no puzzle if you kill the demon, which I did.

Weird, I don't remember the floor puzzle being tough at all.

I'm now playing through the game on "casual", as I got sick of playing through certain encounters over and over again. I guess I should tweak the "tactics" section more, but screw it.
