I find the specializations in this game are worthless, by and large, except for the stat boosts when choosing one. Arcane Warrior is kind of cool, since you can have a wizard in plate mail with an axe and shit, but the other three for the mage aren't worth a fuck, except for a couple Spirit Healer spells.

The rogue ones are especially gay. Bards can fuck off; just a couple average buffs. Rangers can summon pets that get slaughtered immediately, Duelists are basically lousy warriors, and Assassins aren't even that cool.

Berserker is kind of ok, but the other three fighter specs don't have much to offer, either.

All I have right now is Champion and I'm not finding it helps me very much.

At first I was regretting giving my warrior the dual weapon/shield attacks but now that I have unlocked the strongest one it's not so bad. It hits for about 100 right now at my low level.

The game is addicting though. I sit down to play and next thing I know it's 3 hours later.

Jesus, the Fade was ridiculous. I just got through the quest where you are trapped there alone and have to go through all of these dream worlds. I haven't sworn that loud at my console in YEARS. ;D

The Fade was a goddamn pile of shit. I played this game once for about 8 or 9 hours and took a break. Kind of like a leveling period for me. Too addictive.

I hated the fade everytime I played through because it just interrupts the pace of the game. Here I am rolling through and then BAM! I got to be a stupid and do lame puzzle solving stuff.

So after the world map opened up I decided to go do the Redcliffe quest since it seemed like that's what the game wanted me to do. I got through the whole defend the village part fine, but now I'm in the castle and I keep getting crushed by the Revenant thing in the courtyard and it's really annoying and frustrating and I wish I wasn't so terrible at this game :(

I got my approval with Morrigan up to 100% and now she is all antsy about her feelings and won't sleep with my character anymore, lol. I guess I should move on to the redheaded chick.

I'm now finished with Redcliffe and the Circle of Magi... Before going to Denerin(?) I'm going to do the DLC stuff starting with Warden's Keep - gotta get that storage chest, FTW!!

How do you get a code for the Blood Dragon Armor? I got the game new and got Stone Prisoner for free... but I really want to get my hands on this armor? Did I miss something or am I going to have to pay for it?

Blood Dragon Armor should be on the flipside of the paper that has the Stone Prisoner on it. At least, that's how mine was.

I see how I missed it so easily... it was advertised for ME2, and I guess I just didn't read it. No matter, I just hit 38 strength yesterday anyway so I suppose the timing all worked out for the best.

Only treaty left is the Elves/Werewolves business... I think I'm going to try and kill Flemeth first... Not sure if I'm up to the challenge.

I took the easy route out with Flemeth. That is, I saved it prior.. tried to kill her.. got my ass handed to me.. so I loaded the save and just talked her into leaving instead.

I'm doing the Ashes in Denerin right now. I have just found the Brothel, and they have a tranny on staff. This game is hilarious!

leilani of all people killed flemeth for me. My main was a swordswoman, and instantly got mauled. But due to Leilani being an awsome ranger, she just kept firing arrows and i dodged flemeths fireballs for about 15mins, and she swiftly fell.

Im still miffed they dont have a cutscene for the fabled 4way.

Edit: The PC mods have started

LOL @ the boob bra.

Are there any good areas for levelling up? Like not really quest related, but just fight enemies that respawn every time you re-enter the area? Or do you have to do sidequests for any levelling up outside of the main quest?

Cool, I'll have to do more of those, then. Gotta start paying more attention to those job boards and the other dudes that give out quests (Mages and Warriors or something).

What's everyone playing this on? PC, 360 or PS3?

360.

The closer I am getting towards the end of this game, the more I want to play it.

Both dragons dead! Both took a little bit of luck.

I fought Flemeth the same way each time. Flanked with Shale, Oghren, and my elf warrior while Wynne hung out and healed, attacked when possible. Using this strategy, the first time I almost killed her so I figured it was sucessful and I'd just have to fight a little harder. Same exact fight she housed me about 5-6 times, just total domination. Finally I killed her without changing anything. I really have no idea what made some of the fights disasters and two of them pretty successful.

The gong dragon was easier. It beat me pretty bad like 3 times in a row, then I swapped out Shale for Morrigan and won on the first try. Although it behaved pretty strange. It went up to where the gong was, turned its back so it was the only thing available (head looking out over cliff) and didn't move the entire fight. Wynne and Morrigan just blasted away and me and Oghren would attack a bit, get kicked away and repeat until it was dead. I didn't end up using a single potion that fight.

Glad that's done.

That fight gets you a dragon scale, too, which can be made into some terrific plate armor. One of them is 50% fire immunity.

How do you guys plan your battle tactics?

Do you just control one guy and let the AI take over the others? Or do you use the "pause" method with the radial menu and choose a tactic for each character. Essentially playing in "rounds."

I've been trying the latter lately and it's working out well. I put the characters on hold so that they don't run around and just toggle the L2 menu to issue commands. I mainly use Morrigan if I'm active in the battle myself.. Alistar is the tank. My main Rogue is an archer. And I have Wynne stand off in the distance to heal, etc.

Return to Ostagar finally got a proper release today, as well as a patch to fix the bugs it caused the first time. I'll probably get into this if I get some time this weekend.

Return to Ostagar is kinda short but pretty fun. Worth the 400 Microsoft Points, for sure. Only one achievement, but some cool armor to pick up, including Duncan's weapons.

Grading the DLC so far:
Stone Prisoner: A+, Shale is a beast and the quests are pretty fun.
Warden's Keep: B-, short. Nothing too awesome to get, but the story is interesting.
Return to Ostagar: B+, also very short. Good armor. Some cool cut scenes in regard to King Cailan and all.

I've started over, and really trying to appreciate the game. This means reading pretty much every little thing. There's some really good bits I missed the first time through.

I'm also trying to actively roleplay, that is, create a character that is far more than just "me." I created a female warrior named Caprica. She's a slutty, violent redhead with daddy issues.

Man this Broodmother is KICKING MY ASS. Well, not so much the Broodmother as her tentacles coupled with the two Shriek's that come out of nowhere. I fucking hate those things...

New party member for Awakening: Anders the Mage

http://ps3.ign.com/articles/106/1065449p1.html
ANDERS
Many mages chafe under the Chantry's control, and Anders is no exception. Although most mages are brought into the Circle at a young age, Anders was an adolescent by the time the templars found him: he had an understanding of the outside world and knew full well what he was missing. To him, the walls of the Circle Tower were nothing more than a prison. A born troublemaker, Anders repeatedly broke out of the tower, displaying great ingenuity. But for all his resourcefulness and talent, he could never quite elude the templars. It's a lucky thing that Anders despises blood mages as much as the Chantry does, else he might have been executed as a suspected maleficarum long ago. In truth, all he wants is freedom--well, freedom, a good meal, and a pretty girl on his arm. That's not too much to ask, is it?
