Yeah, I know what you mean and its fucking annoying. My GF asked the other day when I never played on it, and I had to tell her there wasn't any games for it I wanted that I couldn't get on the Xbox. She asked why I bought it and I had no answer for her, which made me feel fucking stupid.

The reason I have one is actually kind of funny. My mother wanted a blueray player and for some reason my cousin convinced her to get a PS3... Of course she never figured out how to use it so I brought my blueray player to her house and just traded with her so that she could use it.

Now I have a PS3.

The best part was that she spent a couple minutes pimping how good the game creation tools were...then immediately stated that most people won't use them because they won't do as well as professional designers.

When it came out in Japan it was mostly used to make bukkake mini games.

No new console Zelda, but new Metroid and SMG2 is good stuff. Wii will be worth checking out....in 2010.

"New" Kingdom Hearts looked like the rumored 1+2, maybe with new cutscenes and content, though.

I would be really interested in playing new Metroid. I just know I'm never going to buy a Wii. Maybe I can find a friend who will loan me one...they've sold a billion of them so someone must have one. I don't know. I had every Nintendo console up to and including Gamecube...but I just felt like I had to get off the train. I played the PS2 so much more than the Gamecube, and then when I got the Xbox everything else just collected dust (funnily Xbox was the only one of the 3 that I didn't get at launch becaues I thought I was going to hate the system. That's the most wrong I've ever been about entertainment choice).

I felt like being a Nintendo fan is like being a Jew on Christmas. For every Metroid Prime, Legend of Zelda, Animal Crossing or New Mario...there's the 3 year wait for the next game that you'll want to play.

Our house is a total nerd house - DS, Xbox, PS3, Wii & PC. 360 gets used the most, then the Wii when she has mates over, then the PC. I bet you can guess what Wii games we have, yes that's right, the same ones everyone else has - Wii Sports & Mario Kart.

This year PS2 will get nearly 100 new titles, including Guitar Hero, Buzz, SingStar etc. And now on to PS3. Phew. "A year ago I said our goal was to sell 10m PS3s, and that's what we did." 22m sold globally last year still Sony's biggest money earner, surely? Sony Spin Machine is GO GO GO!

It's pretty interesting to see the difference between the Nintendo press conference, and the other press conferences so far. It's like the difference between Japanese/American wrestling. After every big announcement the fans clap or applaud or whatever...even right now while the Uncharted demo is in play. Yet there was absolute silence during the whole of Nintendo's conference.

All you fucking haters on metroid. Metroid Prime sucks but this one is 3rd person and has some 2D elements. Can't be any worse than Metroid Prime 4 would have been. I'm stoked.

There are games that can't manage 1 vs 1 without lag. You know someone in the squad is going to have a shitty connection.

Toad has the best stupid Nintendo voice. Plus, I've kinda been wanting to play as Toad again since Mario Bros. 2. Also, if the first level they played through is any indication, this is a brand new game with new levels, new traps, and new suits. Say what you will about Nintendo, but as someone who buys one video game every few months, I want a new Mario sidescroller more than any MMORPGFPRLOLAFAIK.

You know what - fair play to Sony they've really, really tried this year to showcase what they have coming up for the PS3. Sadly, of all the titles so far Agent is the only one that has caught my attention, but I think I'm ready to hangfire on buying it to see if it comes out on the 360 or not.

I'm a bit worried they've focused so much on the PSP though, does anyone really own a PSP? I see them in shops, you know, next to the DS which is awesome, but I've never actually seen anyone with a PSP (well one that wasn't flashed). Hmm, no, I'm as confused as ever now by Sony.

EDIT: Actually, now my excitement has died down... didn't they release this game 2 years ago? Now they've re-released it but with a Yoshi to ride? Nintend'oh!

C'mon, Chris. Gimme a break. This is huge. This is the first time a Mario game has had a direct sequel with the same items and controls and style, and, considering that Mario Galaxy is the most excellent game in an excellent series, a direct follow-up should be welcomed more so than a Halo expansion. What I'm trying to say is that everyone who loved SMG probably never expected a direct follow-up of this caliber.
