Eight and a half million people and THIS was the best option? New(s) York City thread

There's a lot of people on social media speculating that Adams could become a faithless elector to Kamala if the electoral college is tied because Trump would pardon him.

watching the nyc debate in chat. I think I can guess who @Brooklyn Zoo is backing but it's surreal watching this entire debate being about Israel.

The Leftist Facebook friend is telling anyone who will listen that dude is not gonna survive to Christmas because zionists will kill him, like they did RFK and Bourdain.

Sirhan Sirhan...New York New York...coincidence?
It all connects. That's what the Kennedys and Anthony Bourdain and Ghadaffi knew and so needed to be silenced.

I have no idea how to articulate it anymore or even where but the number of people in my circle going full-boor antisemitic in the name of a free Palestine is scary. Maybe I'm just approaching things with too much nuance or something but it's gotten impossible to ignore what the subtext is with people like him.

Oh in this instance absolutely the friend.

NYT published a hit piece on Mamdani based on leaked shit from a white supremist racial scientist. This was the update they published after it came out

Things are going great for the Adams campaign.

The two parted ways. Before entering a nearby subway station, Honan opened the bag and discovered a red envelope inside stuffed with cash, at least one $100 bill and several $20 bills. The reporter then called Greco and told her she could not accept the money and asked if she was still nearby so she could give it back. Greco said she’d left the area. Honan told her she had to take the money back, and Greco said they could meet at some point in Chinatown.

The reporter then texted Greco, “I can’t take this, when can I give it back to you?” She did not get a response.

In an interview later Wednesday, THE CITY asked Greco what her intention was in handing money to the reporter. In response, she said she’d made “a mistake” and apologized over and over.

The reporter never asked for/wanted a bribe nor did the staffer ever tell them what they wanted. It was also a very small amount of money to get any kind of favour. Just a hilarious little story that really fits Adams to a T.

I'm not enamored with Mamdani but I'm willing to give him a chance so we can see some real change in NY. Me and a lot of other people are sick of the Cuomos. Politically dynasties in general seem to be dying off over the oast decade (people were projecting Jeb Bush for president in 2016 which is crazy to think about now).
