Fallout 3 had some of the best DLC of any game I've ever played, so this is probably ok.

I have a Mac and a PS3, so I'm completely screwed on this game

Oh well, I'll just keep playing Fallout 3 and New Vegas

Ugh. I hate spending $90 on a new game. I always get enticed to buy the season passes.
Well, they don't even know what the DLC will be yet so I would hold off on buying the pass. They never stop selling season passes anyway so it's not like it's a deal you'd eventually miss out on. Plus if you wait, you might get it discounted through PSN (which has been known to happen).

I'm probably going to build a new PC because my processor doesn't meet the minimum requirements.
Unless you've got an old or laptop dual-core, maybe wait until the game is out, and see how well it performs. Requirements are often inaccurate one way or another. What CPU do you have?

I have a Q8400, which is a Quad Core at 2.66, 4 GB of RAM, and GTX 760.
I built this in late 2009 and I was thinking about building one soon anyway,

I got lucky and due to a coupon code mistake at GMG I got my pre-order for Fallout 4 for 50% off, and just got e-mailed a coupon code for 23% off the season pass, so if I get it now I'll be paying under $60 for the base game and the pass :D

Seems like an i5-2300 would be roughly 40-50% faster. Yours is still a quad-core, though. Hard to say if the lower CPU and RAM would considerably bottleneck things, or if the GPU might make up for it. I'm sure you'd know better than me how it's handling other current games.

If you do decide to build a new system, PC Part Picker is a really good site. Helps compare parts, find prices, has some degree of compatibility checking, etc.
http://pcpartpicker.com/

If you're near a Micro Center location, they tend to have really good prices in-store on CPUs, and motherboard bundles. Probably even more so if you feel like waiting a few weeks until Black Friday.

I put together a system on NewEgg for about 550. I want to get i5-6500 and NewEgg is offering 20 off if I get a MSI board. I also can get 16 GB of RAM for 88 bucks.

This system runs fine with most games. Batman: Arkham Origins really taxes the system. It runs on okay settings but the framerate is choppy. I'm most likely going to order the parts soon and start assembling.

Edit: Bought i5-6500, 16 GB of DD4 RAM, and some other things. I should mention that WWE 15 was also running choppy on my system with the crowd turned off. I think this will be a good purchase and hopefully last another six years.

For those who think they would do the Season Pass, Best Buy is doing a "Gold Edition". It is the game, the season pass and Vault Boy socks:

The retail price on it is $84.99, if you have their Gamers Club it is $67.99, which is decent considering the pass is priced at $30 and those are usually excluded from their gamer's discount.

I finally got around to pre-ordering last night. I wound up getting the bundle with the season pass for $90. Might not have been the smartest decision with my daughter being born in December and starting my MBA in April... probably won't have a lot of time for the DLC packs but eh what the hell.

Screenshots from PS4 version. I know there's been a backlash because of how the graphics look but I think they're great.

I don't know what the fuck those dweebs are talking about.

I think gamers may be my most hated hardcore fanbase. Them or anime diehards.

Yeah, it looks great. Keep in mind that Internet gaming nerd consensus now seems to believe things like "Skyrim is a terrible." These dummies spend 300 hours playing a game and then decide they hated it.

Mods will upscale the graphics and add lighting and shadows...

Speaking of which, I never used any mods for FO 3 or NV. The game has bugs already, mods don't make the situation better. I have used console commands though. Those are awesome.

I've always said that if a company like Nvidia could somehow attach a Fleshlight to their graphics card a lot of those types of people would never have to interact with others again.
