I am shocked and horrified that someone would not be completely honest in a television commercial.

It's just dumb that they're patting themselves on the back for a standard practice. Presidents Choice did the same thing too when they profiled one of the farms whom they source their pigs from and they talked up the whole steroid/hormone thing and at the bottom of the screen in very small print there was the disclaimer that it's against the law to raise hogs with hormones and steroids in Canada.
I would disagree and say that it's smart marketing to promote that, but it straddles an imaginary ethical line to not point out (in large font) that everyone must conform to the same standards. I'm sure the advertising company has a horde of lawyers that looked at the spot a million different ways to ensure they (and A&W Canada) could not be sued for the sin of omission.

The first week of April seems like a very early time to hear the McDonald's "only a dollaaaaaaar, alllll summerrrrrrrrrrrrrr" $1 drink promotion.

Burger King introduces a Gay Pride Whopper in San Francisco restaurant.

My (pretentious) thought is...there's still a Burger King in San Francisco!?

Some dude bought 23 Burger King pies to spite a crying kid screaming "I want fucking pie" behind him.

This dude rules. He's my hero of the day.

I stand there and pull out a pie and slowly start eating eat as I stare back at her. She starts running towards me but can't get to me because of other lineups in the food court. I turn and slowly walk away.

This never happened

I kind of doubt it did but I like the idea of it.

Burger King is the chain I go to most often but it's not one of my favorites. I like it because it's never busy. Kind of upset they got rid of their McWraps knockoffs because I liked to order honey mustard grilled chicken wraps with some Satisfries and a large lemon-lime sparkling water (Oh yeah! The Burger Kings here got Coke Freestyle machines, which is one thing they have over Mickey D's and Wendys) to trick myself into thinking I'm eating healthy.

Now I order the TenderGrill Chicken Sandwich combo which is probably the least exciting option in fast food.

BK's Rodeo Chicken is awesome. $1 for onion rings & BBQ sauce on a chicken patty.

They also keep sending me a full page of coupons every month that let me get 2 burgers, 2 fries & 2 drinks for under $8 along with some other bargains. If I'm going to eat fast food like a fatass it may as well be cheap.

The last time I had Burger King was three years ago on the way to Six Flags Darrien Lake. They were serving breakfast at the time and all I could taste was plastic. It was gross.

Beware of Bootleg Burger Kings in Pittsburgh.

This is such an awesome story, saw this a few days ago. That Burger King was built into a downtown facade, so it's not like they could do a complete makeover like a strip chain could. The building looked straight out of the 70's or early 80's. I'd love to know what happened between them and BK corporate, probably BK shafting them. I love this story.

Related, I ate BK the other day for the first time in like 6 months. Got a bacon double, 4 piece chicken and 4 piece moz sticks. $5 and change. I ate it all within like 7 minutes. It was good.
Curious to see an update on this story so I Googled it.

http://consumerist.com/2014/02/13/update-faux-burger-king-resurrected-as-actual-burger-king/
I guess another Burger King franchisee stepped in, bought this BK, and it's now an actual Burger King.

That's a disappointing and anti-climatic end to the story (unless you're a Pittsburgh BK fan). Disappointing and anti-climatic also sums up the dining experience most times I go to Burger King.

My friend and I went right past this place on Tuesday, had a "Wtf is that?" expression, and somewhat sadly I remembered learning all about this weirdly designed BK / bootleg BK / becoming a real BK from TSM.

Burger King discontinues Satisfries at most locations. Dubbed one of the biggest failures in fast food history.

I had some BK the other day, first time in many months, went overboard on my order (Bacon Deluxe, Spicy Chicken sammy, Cheeseburger w/ XXXXTRA PICKLES AND MUSTARD, onion rings and Mozz sticks)......and when I fart I still smell BK

NEVER AGAIN

It was GD tasty and I wolfed it all down (they forgot the damn marinara sauce for the motz tho, even after I asked for it at a pay windah, and I even stopped and looked in the bag to make sure they got my shit right but line and traffic and shit....)

NEVER AGAIN

Food that makes you smell like that nasty food several days later is sure sign it is not healthy

A few people I know that tried them liked them. I usually get an upset stomach when I try BK, so I never tried.

Honestly, I didn't really love them. They were OK. They were basically a fast food version of high school cafeteria, crinkle cuts but I really liked having an option in between regular french fries and just eating my grilled chicken wraps by themselves.

Actually, like I mentioned earlier, Burger King doesn't have those wraps anymore either so why I go there over McDonalds is beyond me!

Chicken fries are stupid. Take a chicken strip, cut it in half, call it a 'fry' and then you get half the actual meat for the same price, and nobody knows the difference because 95% of them use dipping sauce & that's all you taste anyway.

I never really got why people go nuts for Chicken Fries but I've probably been biased against them since they used to serve them in my middle school cafeteria and called them "Chicken Fryz" and I refused to eat them out of protest of what a dumb name it was to call them.

Lincoln Middle School Cafeteria was very out of touch but that's a thread for the cafeteria thread a few pages back in the Food Folder.

My middle school called hot ham and cheese sandwiches "Hammy Sammies." What a bunch of cunts.

Can't say I've had the displeasure of trying them. But frozen fast food fries usually still taste like frozen fast food fries. The only exception I've found to this is A&W Canada's fries, which are a reasonable approximation of fresh cut fries.

$12.5 billion, for the right to HQ in Canada and lower their US tax rate. Seems a bit excessive.

(yes, I know there's more to it than that)

The two most disgusting food places around, what a perfect marriage.
I don't know that you can say that when there are still Coffee Times and Domino's in the GTA.

With that said I've rarely gone to Tim's for something other than coffee and the occasional Dutchie, which I would argue tasted the least like a frozen almost-pre-made donut. Then they discontinued the Dutchie.
