Sweet zombie fucking Jesus is this game boring. I've struggled through about 25 hours and am now fighting Bahamut. Please tell me it gets good soon.

I did the same. I liked the gameplay but it got redundant and the story never got my interest.

I really wanted to like it. But I was about to start a new job and didn't want to spend what little free time I had tied into a game I couldn't make myself care about. I'll probably just youtube the ending.

I'm near the end but decided to do missions and buff up before going after the final boss. And hopefully get some ultimate weapons but man those adaman things just don't want to drop the drop, or many ingots. But thank GOD for the growth egg. Just finally managed to get it and it's going make grinding for exp a lot less painful.

If you've already gotten the growth egg and drop a 'Toise then you can take down the final boss no problem.

I can only drop a 'Toise by spamming death, and I had to cheat my ass off to get the growth egg. Used an aegisol and fortisol before the fight was the only way I could get more than one death off without dying. Then on one of my billion tries I got take to kill the thing but his five little friends then killed me. So another million tries later I got him deathed early, and manage to kill the five fuckers before all the buffs wore off. I got VERY lucky I was able to get that mission done at this point.

FUCK a 'Toise! I attempted fighting one in Chapter 12 and literally one second into the fight, *stomps the ground*, party dead! I can wipe the floor with the smaller ones though.

The big ones kill me in one stomp. I have to summon an edolin to knock it down and ten spam death and hope it dies before it gets up.

VERY angry to find out that you can't fight Titan. You see him right when you get to Pulse, and I've see him wandering around or yelling a zillion times while running around, so I was 110% sure he was the games hardest enemy. Then I find out not only is that not true, but you can't even fight him at all? Bullshit!

I give.

I understand that Square-Enix was trying to build a game that was different from what it was, but in reality it just failed at accomplishing much of anything. But there are just too many flaws to consider.

A RPG should not take 15-25 hours for the story to finally start getting interesting. It should not take 12-15 hours for characters to actual have some depth to them. It should not take 10 hours for the gameplay to finally be revealed in its fullest glory, unless you are earning abilities, not the actual gameplay itself.

The problem with this game is there actually is a good game and there actual is a decent story, but I can only take so much.

I really wanted to love this game. But it sounds like I'd have to plug way too much time into it to get to it being enjoyable...what sense does that make? My copy's going on Craigslist today. Hoping I can get $40 for it.

I really like this one. The slow build got a little tedious, but I'm 53 hours in and having a good time. I too was bummed you can't fight the Titan.

Finally got the Platinum Trophy. Farming Adamantoise to get enough gil to buy everything was extremely tedious, given the fact drop rate for items was ridiculous. Glad it's over. Fun game for the most part though.

Having killed a zillion Toises and not gotten any Trap and not many ingots I finally was able to get my first ultimate weapon last night by dismantling one of my genji gloves, but I want to keep the other so it's still going to be a long process to get more ultimate weapons and get them upgraded. Bah.

Just beat mission 64, but I still have two other missions to beat plus Long Guis to try before I consider this game done.

Finally beat it tonight. About 65 hours of play. Pretty satisfied. It's weird...this game is disappointing in a lot of ways, yet I still really enjoyed it. Lightning is awesome. My favorite Final Fantasy character so far.

I can't see myself playing it again, or completing the extra missions, or hunt for trophies so I'll probably sell it on Glyde...but then again, I kinda just wanna keep it, just in case.

I gave up 6 hours sooner. Right after putting in the 3rd disc I just realized I didn't care to continue.

BTW: Anyone wanna tell me how 13 ended? I threw in the towel at like, the 26 hour mark...was on Disc 3 and was about to get Vanille's summon but just couldn't do it anymore.

Since I can't describe it, I'll just post this video, which is the ending.

Welcome to the wonderful age of RPGs that have such dreary endings. Not that I want the "and they all live happily ever after", but the endings these days to RPGs just flat out aren't the payoff they used to be. I watched that and was super glad I sold the game.

What's sad, is that rumors going around that FFXIII-2 is supposed to be the DLC that was talked about earlier and the things that ended up on the cutting floor as well. I can't honestly say I wanna purchase it. Nor do I wanna purchase FF Versus XIII either.
