Mike Adamle was perfect in his role as the lead announcer on American Gladiators, and I was so bummed out when his WWE run was a disaster. In retrospect, those flubs look a lot different now, knowing he was later diagnosed with dementia as a result of CTE.

Yeah I was excited for Adamle too. He was a mainstay on my local NBC affliate in Chicago and I was a huge Gladiators fan. I figured the flubs were because he just didn't watch wrestling, but they do have a darker tone now with his CTE. Always seemed like a super nice guy and was an easy going presence to watch on the news.

I have told this story a bunch here and will tell it many more times but I was at a very poorly attended Indy show on Memorial Day Weekend ten years ago main evented by Rick Fuller and GIANT PHARAOH (who I am low key amazed never got a run anywhere even though he sucked) Vs Apollo (of TNA minor fame. But most famous in Puerto Rico) and someone who I am forgetting.

Before the show, I am using the men’s room and Rick Fuller sidles up to the urinal next to me despite every other urinal being unoccupied. FIRST (BUT HOPEFULLY NOT LAST) TIME I WAS PEESHY AROUND SOMEONE WHO WAS IN WCW/nWo Thunder.

I love how Meng is in the commercial but Hogan or Sting are trading cards people can get with the pizza. That's the best decision WCW made.
