I do enjoy the Pro-tak system which adds weight and momentum to the gameplay. I LOVE the slowed down overall speed because it is much more realistic than '09. I can finally play pass defense!

What sucks is you have to PAY for Online Franchises. What, was my $60 not enough, EA? Need $10 more?

Best new feature for me was the rebalancing of stats.

When there's a 90+ speed person on the field, he actually feels like he's flying down the field.

Yeah, it's much better this year, I created a SS with 90 speed and actually ran past the QB twice in my last game because I'm not used to somebody being that much faster than the OL to beat them around the corner and get in for a sack. As was mentioned earlier, I also like fighting for yards and the gang tackle feature. The overall slow down on the gameplay is nice too, I wasn't sure how much I'd like it, but so far, so good.

False.

You can find a code on the back of the instruction book and enter it in the "Redeem Code" section of the Online Franchise menu.

Am I the only one who as a problem with defenders I'm controlling just stumbling over their feet for NO reason? Seriously, it's a straight blitz and if I inch the stick just a little, my guy will stumble over his feet and kill any hope I had of getting a play. It's frustrating me since I am not 100% sure WHY it is happening.

Everything else, I can dig. No weird jumping linebackers, gotta hit the hole on the ground or die, and the quarterback is at least given some time to make a decision. I've determined that I really hate playing 3-4 and must be a 4-3 kind of guy. Can't get a sack in the 3-4 to save my life.

I didn't realize that. Thanks for pointing it out.

Using the right stick to get through the o-line instead of pressing a button is so much better it isn't funny. I'm going to wait until the first roster update to start a franchise though; I hope New England has more than two QBs because I don't really want to sign Trent Green or Rex Grossman.

The roster update I got friday afternoon had Brady, Walter, and O'connel so no Rex is needed. Derrick Burgess has his position updated by he's like a 92 at DE and only a 71 at OLB.

Probably a dumb question, but here it goes. I've never really played too many games online for any of the Maddens... before the ball is snapped, and you're viewing your play by pressing the right trigger + left analog, does your online opponent also see the play?

I doubt it, but I usually cycle through the bluff plays too, just in case.

EDIT: Is it me, or does Tom Hammond in the booth make one yearn for the days of Pat Summerall? Summerall was at least an interesting kind of dull. I think Hammond's lines were by and large recycled from '09. I also don't need to be reminded 30 times a game that my game is being brought to you by EA Sports. I kind of get that.

NCAA is guilty of the same thing with recycling Herbstreit, Corso and Nessler's lines from previous years.

They did the same shit with the earlier Maddens too.

I don't mind the recycling, but the

jump cuts with totally different tone of voice than the rest of the sentence drive me crazy.

Also, I have bold and italic tags on that part, but I only have to put the closing bold tag? Gwuh?

No, your opponent does not see when you are reviewing your routes on the play before the snap. I check with a friend when we played a game online.

I wonder when the update will come to put that fucker Favre into the game. I was going to restart my franchise with tomorrow's update, but I need to be able to pound the shit out of Brett 2 times this season.

I don't understand why they didn't just leave him as a free agent. Unless EA are the only people to believe that he'll ever retire.

Well, since he was "officially" retired, I don't think he was included with the rights to the NFLPA.

P.S. Join the league, bps! :)

I don't think they should let him use the phrase "officially retired".

Also...I'll join. I just have to pick a team.

Brett's in tomorrow's update; they had his player made & ready to go, they just had to import it into the roster.

Well thank god when I get my copy from SI the Favre update will be out. Wouldn't want the VIkings to be good or anything.

And I don't think my question was answered: can you make a kicker in superstar mode yet?

The recycled lines are really bad. Apparently Graham Harrell is a veteran quarterback who knows how make the expert throws while Drew Brees is a rookie who will learn from his mistakes. It just seems like it is picking the same set of lines over and over again depending on what you do.

I've just beefed up the crowd noise and ignored them but yeah, that got really bad really fast. Seems like they recorded maybe 20 minutes of commentary at most.

So, the Vick/Favre update is out.

Vick is a 73 overall, Favre is an 82

The problem with doing the SI thing is....now I'm dying waiting for Madden to get to my house

Do they still have the option to edit a player's position? I could see moving Vick to say, WR or RB so he wasn't my backup qb

I got him 23-20 last night, even though the entire second half was him running Johnson on a crossing route.

Okay, I'll be creating a PS3 online franchise in the next day or so. I know there's considerably less people than the 360 franchise, but I know that some people are still interested.

Including myself, we have three posters that I know of so far. If anyone else wants in, you're obviously welcome.

Aero: NY Jets
Cartman: New England Patriots
NoCalMike: Washington Redskins

Haven't finalized the rules yet, but here's what I was thinking for the basics:

Fantasy draft: Off
Game Skill: All-Pro
Quarter length: 5-6 minutes
Accelerated Clock: Off
Injuries: On
Fatigue: On

I'm fine with doing either 5 or 6 minute quarters, but I just want to verify what everyone else wants. I assume we'll keep injuries on. What does everyone think in regards to trades?

Well, that rape ended up turning into a pretty close game. He won 48-42 in OT.

Fucking Steve Slaton
