Madden NFL 11

So far I have played only unranked games online and when someone quits you don't have the option to continue vs. cpu. Is that because it is an unranked game, or is that the new way it is going to happen?

I just had a pretty awesome moment, Orakpo came around the end on ablitz, nailed The Chief's QB, ball flicks into the air...Haynesworth snatches it out of the air and rumbles his way 15 yards for the TD....of course this put me up 21-0 and my opponent quit....and what really sucks is because my opponent quit I couldn't save and/or upload the highlight dammit. I am sure that aint happening for awhile....argh.

Also, I really prefer the old turbo Button style, being able to manually control turbo, is like having another juke move.

Ok, so I'm playing my preseason game vs. the Saints and Taylor breaks one for a long TD and as he gets to the end zone, Gus starts singing....something. It sounds like the old Batman TV show theme.

I guess the point of this is, Gus is fucking awesome in this game.

My second ranked match ended horribly.

I was up 13-0 after some very nice throws to the endzone. (btw lag makes the 3 button kicks a cunt) and then suddenly, EVERYTHING i attempted got A) Intercepted, B) Fumbled or C) Blocked till the 4th.

I was really ready to kill my 360 as i lost 13-34.

Question from the guy who's only had his 360 for one year: will EA still provide roster updates and other live support for Madden '10 now that the new one is out? I'm guessing they do not.

With online support, it depends on if people are still using the game online or not. With EA, I know they did it on server percentage. They shut down the 07 EA games back somewhere between January and March if I remember right. I remember there being a big event for NBA Live 07 to get a "Be Online with 1000 other people" achievement and I remember hoping on my Madden 07 around the same time to get the last online achievement I needed. I think the shelf life on the online of the old games may last longer with EA now packing online access with new copies/have to pay to play online for used but at the same time the 07 sports games got disconnected, they disconnected Facebreaker and that Lord of the Rings Conquest game which were not much over a year old, just really unpopular.

I had pre-ordered off Amazon and UPS didn't bring this until late tonight so I don't think I will end up getting a chance to give this a try until sometime tomorrow.

I was messing around on the demo at Best Buy right before I got it, he started doing that "nananana" part and I shouted TOUCHDOWN right as he said it. It was awesome.

I got my copy, so if we're doing Online Franchise, I am definitely bringing the 49ers into the mix.

Erm, I guess if people want, I can run one for Madden too. I don't know if VX is going to want to run one as I know his micro-brew sipping hippy ass has an aversion to "pay for play" (a big reason as to why the underground sex scene hates him too) and he's mentioned not wanting to re-up his XBL Gold account. If he wants to run one, cool..if not, I'll be more than up to run the Madden along side the NCAA.

I'd also like to take the time to call the Texans as my team.

Played my first online game today and had my opponent quit on me with 5mins left in the 4th after he fumbled the ball inside my twenty with me up by 10.

Lag makes the kicking game atrocious..

I'm down for a 360 league - I'll take the Cowboys..and I promise I won't disappear like last year.

Game is pretty good from the few hours I've played..defense seems non-existent though for both humans and CPU. All the games I've played have been high-scoring. Also has anyone noticed how the CPU QB always releases the ball RIGHT before you're about to sack him? So frustrating. This has been a problem in EA games before but I've noticed it more in Madden 11 today than any previous installments.

I've had a few of the "oh shit, let me throw this and not get flagged" throws but I've also had my fair share of forcing the QB to just eat a sack.

I officially hate the Strategy Pad. You don't get much time to make adjustments before the snap and the game not letting you press BUTTons that your fingers are already ON is just idiotic.

Damn. I'm 1-5 online(ranked). I've found playing good defense to be a lot harder than good offense for the first time in awhile. Before, my problem was always scoring points against online opponents, now it is the opposite. Either I can't seem to stop my opponent, or by the time I find the right defense, I am down 14-0, and end up losing 21-14.

My win was over someone playing the Eagles.

I think I only got blown out once, but it was pretty tight going into 4th quarter and then one of those sequences happened, where the opponent scores, so you go into under pressure mode, a sack, fumble, run for score.....ahhhhhhhh fucked.

I broke an 81 yard TD run with Clinton Portis, HB toss to the right side(designed for the left but I switched it). I saved it and might upload it later tonight. Once he broke free, I didn't think he was fast enough to take it to the house, but he did!

All my room mates and myself have set up a fantasy draft franchise. I'm the Eagles, and I drafted Flacco, Colt McCoy, and Levi Brown to be my three qbs. After the draft, in preseason, I jokingly picked up Jamarcus Russell to be my 4th qb. We sim the preseason and what happens?

Flacco: Out for the season
Colt: Out for 11 weeks
Brown: out for 5 weeks

So I have the dynamic duo of Russell and Colt Brennan as my qbs. Ugh.

In past Madden's when playing online I was also having a hard time scoring points, but played pretty good defense. This year it is the exact opposite. I think the last 5 online matches I have scored at least 30 points, but end up losing.

It seems like a lot more "spectacular" things happen in this year's game. Like, if the ball is INT, there seems to be a higher ratio it is returned for TD. If the QB is sacked and ball stripped, it is almost guaranteed it is being returned for a TD. Stuff like that.
