I THINK in that first Earth battle you need to run out of ammo before the Normandy makes the save.

Did this game have to include a weight penalty too? What exactly is the science behind having too much weight and having your powers regenerate slower?

I could see with biotics - being fatigued from carrying to much would hinder you. But not with something like applying a shield or whatever.

Just played the best mission ever. I had to make a decision I didn't want to make and it was just epic.

This game is great, and hoo boy is the enemy AI nasty. Positioning your teammates and choosing targets for them seems way more important this time around. Getting a sniper to high ground works just like it should. That more maps are heavily vertical really factor in a lot. Thank god for cluster grenades; the Grissom Academy mission is one of the hardest I've played in any ME game, right up there with the Collector ship.

The ship, not the base. That fight against the praetorian + scions + husks is the hardest in the game, especially on the higher difficulties where all husks have a layer of armor.

I still can't believe how even the small decisions I made in Mass Effect *1* affect this game, like helping the doctor in the clinic against the gang members. I've also made a decision just a few hours into the game, that I don't know if it was "right" or not.

It is cool to run into characters from the first game, though I can barely remember them until I read their Codex entry.

I guess you can't endorse stores in the Citadel anymore. Boo.

Yeah that one's a tough battle, but for some reason I had a hell of a tough time with Horizon. The collector base was surprisingly easy.

I'm having trouble finishing the indoctrinated hanar diplomat. I went to the first terminal on the embassy area, but I can't seem to find the next spot.

I'm not sure I know exactly what side mission that is...but when I had to find terminals in the citadel I'd bring up the map and then flip through the layers and it told me where the next one was.

I found a mission summary on the wiki and I followed that. The next terminal didn't work for me, so I'm just going to chalk this up as a glitch.

The new Citadel is great to run around. It's also old buddy central, apparently. Oh, and Blasto 6 is maybe the best thing in the history of things.

Also, while I had no problem with the Hanar diplomat quest, many people have reported a glitch there, with the terminals not activating.

Yeah he is great. I almost always have him in my squad for missions. His biotic attacks are pretty sweet!

I might get it, just because my crew consists of only three people right now that I don't really like. Do I get more crew members doing the main missions or side quests ?

The list of squad members is shorter this time out and they all seem to be acquired via the main storyline.

They are:
Ashley or Kaiden, EDI (very cool looking Metropolis styled body), Garrus, James Vega, Tali, Liara, and Javik (the DLC character). Kinda pissed that Wrex and Grunt only make cameos and there is essentially no Krogan companion. I guess "power solider" is the role that Vega is supposed to fill?

Two other notes:

1. Jessica Chobot is terrible in voiceover, especially for a videogame of this "magnitude." Don't quit your day job (whatever that is).

2. I've been trying to find a way to kill James Vega permanently. I hope it's doable because, as someone said earlier, he's a total meathead.

Killing James:

No.

Agreed on both points. She sounds like she's reading a IGN Strategize script.

I guess I've been doing mostly side stuff since I'm still stuck with the same three squadmates 10 hours in. I wish it would be a bit clearer if completing a mission would give you a new party member.

Played the DLC and I really enjoyed it. Brings you back to an old location and the action is pretty decent.

And the bonus power you get from the Prothean is now my favorite in the game. Biotically picking up dudes and slamming them headfirst into the ground? Fuck yes.

The writing is also tremendous. Mordin is still awesome:

Shepard: Are you sticking around?
Mordin: Maybe I'll go someplace warm, with a beach, collect some seashells.
Shepard: You'll go crazy within a week.
Mordin: ........I'll run tests on the seashells.

That list of companions is awful, by far the worst in the series. Especially since I lost one of them last game.

So I decided to read the ending spoilers and at this point I really don't feel like finishing the game as they're that bad. Hopefully, the shitstorm on the Bioware forums produces something good and Bioware releases an alternate ending that doesn't absolutely suck.

I would have preferred if they gave you a certain number of slots and let you pick your own team.
