The alternate costumes are pretty cool this time out. Garrus' camo armor is pretty bad ass.

I dig that the alternate costumes have different bonuses. Good way to give us some more variety in how we spec teammates.

The one thing that feels like a serious downgrade from ME2 is the quest journal. Instead of getting a continually progressing objective list, you just get the original description now, and it never changes. For major missions, not really a huge deal since they're pretty linear, but for some of the conversation/fetch quests, it's pretty annoying. I've forgotten where I needed to go on the Citadel more than once. Not sure why they'd remove such a simple, useful feature.

And the fact that Shepard seems to get most of them by eavesdropping on other people's conversations is weird.

Not much of a spoiler that the Council is as useless as ever in this game.

Although I don't know any details. all I've been hearing is how bad the ending is. I'm actually looking toward to it to see how bad it is.

The more I get into it the more I agree with those that say 2 was the better game. They have to hit so many plot points in this one that they can't really get too deep into any one character or storyline like in 2. Can't blame them for that though since the game would probably still be in the middle of development right now if they tried it.

But it felt like all 2 was was character stuff. Like...meet this character...spend time doing their thing. Repeat. Game over.

I know, I just wish 15 hours in things would start kicking off a bit more. I have been doing a lot of side stuff and just wandering the Citadel and Normandy, but it still feels like I'm in the early parts of the story.

Though Mordin's mission on Tuchanka is probably my favorite of the game so far. Mordin :'(. Actually, all the stuff on Tuchanka was pretty awesome.

After listening to an episode of Blasto, I think I'm going to start all my posts with "Badassfully" from now on.

My 2 cents atm. The game is slow and methodic... ala ME1, which isnt a bad thing. What i do not like however is the sidequests and how you get no indication if you have scanned the appropriate item the NPCs are looking for and its time to go back to them. But at least scanning isnt a chore this time.

ME2 to me always felt like a GOW clone with added find A > be their bitch > they survive the final mission. Everyone was upset about that, but the game openly stated from the start thats what it was, as you were recruiting a force to take down a base, and if you didnt want to do it, you didnt have to... just dont expect to survive.

Mordin:

Just got his salarian ass killed, and tbh im not that bothered. Wrex was always my tank in ME1 and its a shame he never got to come back as a squad member.

For those with "From Ashes". Anyone enjoying the character? Its nice to see that the race wasnt all the sunshine and lollypops that Liara always invisioned and instead hes like non emo Darth Vader with his routhlessness.

From Ashes...

If you talk to him after you pick up Legion, he keeps on telling you to "throw it from the airlock." Mr Sunshine, that guy.

He's my favorite character in the game. It's a crime that they made it dlc. He has the most interesting stories, opinions and IMO best powers when in battle

I agree.

His "dark channel" power is freaking awesome when it jumps from creature to creature. Also, his armor reminds me of Auron from Final Fantasy X.

Him and wrex verbally destroying the Salariarian coulture with thier "i agree salarian liver was a delacacy in my cycle" was brilliant.

Not to mention his convo with Liara where he says "That lazard race actually made it? Liara: I think they are amphibian.. Javik: They used to eat flies.

Still playing through, but finding out what I did in Project Overlord in ME2 wasn't a one-off just made my day.

I'm 24 hours in as far as gameplay goes. My war assets meter is at max and my galactic readiness score is 81%. I find that it goes up by 2 or 3% every time I win a multiplayer match.

Right now I am just trying to get rid of the shit load of side quests that I've picked up just by overhearing conversations on the Citadel. As far as main story goes, I am midway through the meet up with the Quarians and the Geth. Really fun stuff so far.

Random note: they really are Joss Whedoning things up with some of these deaths (and some of the non-deaths, even).

Ive been fucking about trying to scan all the planets i can so i can do alot of the sidequests i have.

It sucks balls however where you get no notification whether you have item A and are able to deliver it to person B however.

Yeah that is especially annoying and pretty much why I am specifically doing the sidequests on their own first before I proceed anymore with the main story. I kept picking shit up and not realizing it was the item to complete a Citadel quest. Terrible design decision, IMO.

Even more infuriating is that they are all just scanning missions, I know ME2 and 1 got flack for their sidequesting being carbon copy maps of previous ones but at least there was a purpose besides:

Go to system > Scan > avoid Reaper > win > get lost finding target to complete quest.

Shit's picking up now for me. I made the mistake of paging through the CE's art book so I think I know why people are hating the ending, but I'll have to get to it myself to see if it is really that bad.

I banged Allers. Don't tell Ashley!

I'm basically right near the end game at this point. I had some more of those dumb fetch quests to do, but I really didn't feel like doing that anymore. Guess I'll wrap this up tomorrow and see what this horrible ending is all about. The end does kind of sneak up on you. I didn't think I was nearing the end, but then before I started the mission
where you assault Cerberus HQ
I got the "Hey, there's no going back after this" message.

And I totally forgot you can buy weapon upgrades in the docking bay so I spent like 150k credits upgrading everything. I never went down there because I really didn't care about James at all.

The Dog which came with the collectors edition lives down there and is the most useless DLC ive ever seen. It does nothing except walk around in the shuttle bay.

The gay shuttle pilot Cortez is also down there if you're looking for some homo action for maleShep.

Well...
Considering what seems to happen to Shepard in some of the endings, continuing the Mass Effect series with James as the lead would make sense.
